The days of the infant tub...sometimes I still miss them.  The days when your baby was so small and tiny and cute and DIRTY!  I never understood and still don't understand how something so cute and cuddly can get so dirty just from lying around, but they definitely do!

I guess all of that time in those little diapers takes a toll and nothing makes your little infant feel more relaxed and more comfortable, than a nice warm bath.  The major challenges I always faced with Riley and the infant tub, was getting her truly clean (without any dirt or grime being left behind in the rolls of her skin, and keeping her warm during the entire bath.

I was grateful for the chance to review the 4moms Cleanwater Infant Tub, which promises to do both equally!  Now, your little one will no longer have to be rushed through their bath because the water's getting cold and so are they, and you can also make sure that they are squeaky clean too!

Since Riley is now 18 months old, I can't say that I tried using this infant tub with her.  I did however, personally use the infant tub in my own kitchen sink to see how it works, because I still remember the challenges associated with bathing an infant.  The first noteworthy feature of this tub is that the water constantly cycles through it so that your baby is not left sitting in a pool of stagnant, stinking water.  It is for this reason, that I myself like to shower over bathe and so I'm happy to see that 4moms basically invented the "infant shower" with the Cleanwater Infant Tub.

Before the water actually touches your baby though, it first lands in a small collecting area where there is a digital thermometer measuring the temperature of the incoming water.  Not only can you see the temperature in numerical degrees, you can also gauge the temperature of the water by simply looking at the color-coded screen too.

If the water is too cold, the screen turns blue, too hot and the screen turns red, and green is the color you get when the water is at a comfortable temperature for baby.  This feature is essential for monitoring the temperature of the continuously flowing water, just don't get too caught up in bathing baby and remember to check it.  In case you do, there is even an audible alarm to warn you if the water is getting too hot, so that you can never accidentally scald baby.  This serves as an extra pair of eyes for mommy and makes sure that you are always keeping baby comfortable.

The regulated water then moves into the basin area of the tub where baby is positioned.  There is a white padded mat for baby to lie on, which is glued to the bottom of the tub.  There are also two different outlet plugs in the basin area, depending on the age of your baby and water level required to bathe him or her.  The outlet plugs are where the dirty water will leave the basin so that clean, warm water can continuously cycle through from the collecting area.

This infant tub also comes with a rinsing cup and two cup holders, one on either side of the tub, so that you will never have to search around at the last minute for something to rinse the shampoo and soap off of baby.  The Cleanwater Infant Tub also fits most double and single basin sinks and can always be used in the bathtub if it won't work in your sink.  You can use this infant tub on babies from birth through 25 pounds.  This infant tub also requires 3 AA batteries in order for the digital thermometer and audible alarm to function.

I think the Cleanwater Infant Tub with Digital Thermometer from 4moms is a great idea that's been a long time coming.  Every mom knows the challenges of bathing an infant, keeping them warm and getting them squeaky clean.  This infant tub manages to do all three as easily as possible.  The digital thermometer ensures that you never scald baby or get their sensitive skin too cold.  There is even an audible alarm on the digital thermometer portion so that mom is alerted if the water begins to move out of the baby's comfort zone.

  The only possible downside I could see to using this tub versus another infant tub is an increase in water usage, since the water will be flowing continuously through the tub.  The baths I gave Riley were never that long though, and so this increase in water is probably pretty negligible.  If I was ever to have another child, I would definitely purchase this product for my new baby!
