One of the things I love most about going out for a night on the town is putting on my makeup!  It's so much fun to think of your face as a palette and to decide what colors and techniques you are going to use to "paint" it.  I have to admit though that while I love to apply makeup, I haven't always had the expertise with which to do it properly.

When you look at how flawless makeup artists can make someone look, don't you wish you had that kind of know-how to use at home?  Well, now CoverGirl and Makeup Master Molly Stern are here to help!  Read on to find out how I became a "Makeup Maven" in my own home!

I reviewed the following products from Cover Girl, though MyBlogSpark:

  • SmokyShadow Blast in Onyx Smoke, Bronze Fire and Tempest Blue
  • LashBlast Volume Mascara in Black, Very Black and Brown
  • LineExact Liquid Liner Pen in Black Brown, Brown and Smoke
  • Makeup Master Case with Mirror
  • Cheat Sheet with Tips and Advice from CoverGirl Makeup Master, Molly Stern
  • Makeup Artist Director's Chair
  • CoverGirl Jump Drive

Ah, the smoky eye...one of life's greatest mysteries!  It seems like no matter how hard I try, I can never seem to get my "smoky eye" to look sultry and sexy as it does on all of the biggest celebs.  If only I had the help of someone who actually knew what they were doing!  Well, CoverGirl came to my rescue by allowing me to review the Smoky Eye Look kits, and boy did they do their best to turn me into a Makeup Master, just like Molly Stern.

They sent over a makeup bag and mirror, all three Smoky Eye Look kits (Natural, Bold and Glamorous) and even a CoverGirl director's chair to use just like the pros do!  More importantly, I was given tips and advice straight from Molly.  I know with all of this help, my smoky eye would just have to turn out right!

I decided to choose the Natural Smoky Eye Look kit to use first, since this would be the look I would probably wear the most.  What I was happy to discover about the Natural Smoky Eye Look kit is that it only had three different products inside and absolutely no extra brushes were needed.  This was going to be much simpler than I thought!  I followed Molly's application advice carefully, and here's exactly what I did:

  • LIDS 1: Stroke browbone and inner corner with SmokyShadowBlast step 1.  Smudge outer corner and crease with step 2.
  • LINER 2: Using Line Exact Liquid Pen, start at inside corner and draw a thin stroke across upper lash line.  Flick the line slightly upward at outer corner.
  • LASHES 3: Finish the look by brushing upper and lower lashes with LashBlast Volume Mascara.  Let dry for ten seconds and repeat.

I thought this advice worked great!  Look at the results below:
