Bye, Bye Feedburner! Please Read If You are an Email Subscriber!

If you're a long-time reader of this blog (THANKS!) or brand new to this site (THANKS!), then you may have signed up to receive my newsletter delivered directly to your inbox.  I've always used Feedburner to provide this service, but over the last few months, I've become increasingly disturbed by the problems they seem to keep having and the utter lack of communication on their part in when these issues will be fixed.

I've had numerous folks tell me that they have repeatedly tried to subscribe, though never receive a confirmation email from Feedburner which seals the deal and actually puts them on the list.  I've also had many long-time subscribers tell me that they haven't received a newsletter from me in months.  This is simply unacceptable and so it was time to find a new player in the game.

I'm happy to say that yesterday I made the official switch to a new email newsletter company and am happy with the results I've seen so far.  There are obviously going to be a few bumps along the road, but I hope that you will be patient with me as I make the transition from Feedburner to the new newsletter program.  Many of you have already received a request to confirm your subscription and that's because I added your address to the new program and must have your permission to subscribe you here.

Over the next few days, you may receive a newsletter from the new program as well as a Feedburner newsletter.  Feel free to unsubscribe from Feedburner, for I will be completely turning that off as soon as everyone has made the move.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.  Thanks again for choosing to be part of the new newsletter program.  You are my most valuable readers and I appreciate you so much!

I love interacting with my readers and hope to learn as much about you as you learn about me!

  • I am so glad to hear someone say there is a problem somewhere. I had signed up for several newsletters and hardly get any. Since I just subscribe to newsletters and don't send them out there is no way to contact feedburner. I received my subs for just a couple days around easter and they were cut off again.

I thought my account alone was "seriously screwed up".

    • Hi Debbie,

No, the problem is definitely not with your account. For some reason, Feedburner has a horrible delivery rate when it comes to their email newsletters. I'll still be using them for my feed, for those who like to read their favorite blogs in a feed reader, but I had to find a different option for my email subscribers. Sorry that it took me a while to make the move, but I wanted to make sure that I did it right and found a service that would be much better for everyone. Hope you like the change! Have a wonderful weekend!

  • Good thing you posted this, because I thought that email was some sort of phishing and deleted it right away since I have already been recieving your feedburner newsletter.

    • So sorry for the confusion, Sue. If you'd like to re-subscribe, you can always access the new signup form on my website directly. I've changed over all of my newsletter links to the new platform, so there's no more feedburner links to the daily email option. So that you're not subscribed to two different newsletters, feel free to unsubscribe to the Feedburner one. I'll be turning that one off in the next few days once everyone moves over. Thanks so much for your patience and have a wonderful weekend!

    • YAY! Thanks a bunch, Danielle! I really appreciate the feedback. Have a wonderful weekend!

  • Ah, that explains it! I got the email and thought it must be in error but subscribed again anyway. Thanks for the explanation; I'm glad you sent it. :)

    • Hi Anna,

I wasn't able to move all of my subscribers over in one day, since my email program has a daily limit on new additions. I think you should be added now, so you should have received a verification email to approve. If not, you can always subscribe on my website directly.

  • I entered one of your giveaways and it make me re-subscribe and I wondered why, lol. I knew I had been already subscribed. Thanks for explaining this and have great weekend. :)

    • LOL! So sorry for the confusion...this should be the last move I make for a long time! :big grin: Have a wonderful weekend!

    • You've got that right, Nicole! I've learned one very important lesson when it comes to technology and blogging so far... you get what you pay for. I guess I'm not too surprised then that Feedburner's email service isn't exactly reliable. Hopefully, the new email platform will be a much better solution. Have a wonderful weekend! :big grin:

  • I also like the look of your new email! newsletter! I like the clean crispness of it. I prefer the new newsletter format.
