Toothpaste 2 GoSometimes, you can look around and find yourself in quite a rut.  I guess human beings are creatures of habit, but at times, it's those exact habits which can lead to monotony and the feeling that your life has become quite predictable and boring.  That's why I am always doing my absolute best to set goals for myself, so that I have something in my life to try and accomplish and aspire to.  Your goals can be something as small as learning how to knit a new stitch or to perfect your backhand in tennis, but it's imperative that you are always striving to better yourself and reach a new milestone.

Thankfully, 2011 has the promise to be one of my most challenging and possibly fulfilling years ever, for my husband and I will be launching our new business called MCM Inventions, Inc.  I have invented a gadget called Toothpaste 2 Go, which we are in the process of patenting and have finally manufactured!  It is so exciting to look in our garage and see boxes upon boxes of finished product just waiting to be sold.  Because we are a company consisting of only two people, we have quite a job in front of us.

I am in the process of finishing up our website and online store and creating the marketing for our new invention, and my husband will be actively trying to sell this item and set up meetings with prospective clients.  Hopefully, we will uncover a store or two that will want to carry our product.

You may be wondering what Toothpaste 2 Go is and how the idea came about.  Well, before Riley was born, I was a seventh grade Science teacher.  While teaching, I was invited to attend the National Science Teachers Convention in Boston.  Since I live in Texas, obviously I was going to have to fly in order to attend the convention and I was at the grocery store shopping for travel sized items that I needed to pack for my trip.

I was in the toothpaste aisle and almost fell over at how expensive travel sized toothpaste was.  I remember that a travel sized tube cost only 50 cents less than a full sized tube of toothpaste, even though the travel sized tube contained half as much product.  I couldn't believe how much consumers were being asked to pay just for the convenience of the smaller tube.  This is when I began thinking of a gadget whereby people could make their own travel sized tubes of toothpaste by transferring toothpaste from the full sized toothpaste tubes that they already owned.

I made a very crude prototype, using a drill and a few plastic caps, and everyone I showed it to said that it was a terrific idea and that they wish they had something like this.  The rest is history and my husband and I decided to take the plunge and see if this invention could be brought to market.

Our to-do list is infinitely long, but also extremely exciting, for the possibilities to where this invention could lead are limitless.  The best part is when my husband and I allow ourselves to daydream about what could happen to our family if this invention were to take off.  I guess if the inventor of Bubba Teeth can strike it rich, so can we!  Now, with this ultimate goal of launching the Toothpaste 2 Go product line, I have a new and exciting goal in my life and one that makes me lie awake in bed at night with anticipation and gives me something to bound out of bed to get started on every day.  Look out 2011, because here I come!

I'm a former 7th grade Science teacher turned stay-at-home mom that lives in Houston, Texas. I am married to my college sweetheart and have a beautiful daughter named Riley, who definitely keeps me on my toes! I am also involved in starting a small business which would both manufacture and sell an invention that I've patented, called Toothpaste 2 Go. I love interacting with my readers and hope to learn as much about you as you learn about me!
