The holidays are rapidly approaching and with them usually comes a multitude of invitations to gather with family and friends. Unfortunately, it is extremely hard to stick to a sensible diet around these times, and the temptation to eat all of the yummy treats we're barraged with can simply be too great. Of course, just because we gain a few extra "Christmas pounds" doesn't mean we still don't want to look slim and trim at all of the holiday functions we attend.
Thank goodness for quality shapewear! Since I love attending social gatherings in pretty dresses, I was very thankful to have the opportunity to review the Adjustable Shapewear Slip Diva Defined D-105 from Annette International. Keep reading to find out how it works and why this is one unique shaper garment!
I had a big date night coming up with my husband for his birthday and even bought a brand new dress to impress him. Since I don't work out as regularly as I should, I have a few extra rolls and jiggly areas I'd like to conceal. The new dress I bought was a clingy knit dress and so the Annette Adjustable Shapewear Shaper Slip Diva Defined D-105 definitely had its work cut out for it!
One of the first things I noticed about this slip was how smooth and silky the fabric felt. The Diva Defined Slip is made from 89% Nylon and 11% Lycra but I thought that the material actually breathed well, for I was never hot or sweaty while wearing it. I also LOVED the nude color because it looked very close to my own skin color so that it would blend in rather than stand out if it happened to be seen underneath my clothes.
Since the dress I was wearing had a boat-neck neckline, every now and again the strap of this slip would show. My husband even commented though on how the slip's color blended in so well that he thought it was part of my dress.
Of course, my absolute favorite feature was the adjustable inner belt. This reminded me of a corset in a way, for you dictated the level of control you wanted from this slip. There are four different rows of hooks on the back of this belt. The tighter you go, the more of an hourglass shape you'll receive for the belt helps control the panels which slim your belly, hips and thighs.
I originally tried this slip on the tightest setting, but found that I couldn't get it on at this level and so moved the hook and eye closure to the next row. It's a little difficult to get the belt smoothed down completely once the slip is on, since the slip is rather tight, but I finally got everything straight and I loved the way I looked! I thought I easily appeared five pounds thinner!
Although the Annette Diva Defined Slip offered plenty of control for your midsection and lower region, I was very happy that it didn't hinder my chest at all. I wore my regular bra underneath this slip and still received all of the cleavage boosting enhancements my bra had to offer.
A lot of shapewear I've tried in the past will actually use the same material throughout the entire garment which inevitably makes your chest look smaller. The Diva Defined slip didn't work that way and so my chest size didn't suffer the consequences of the restricting material below.
I thought I looked great and I felt so confident all night long because of it. If you are looking for a wonderful slip which is adjustable and so can grow (or shrink) with you and offer varying levels of support, then I highly recommend the Annette Diva Defined D-105 Shaper Slip. This is one garment that will have you looking and feeling great throughout the entire holiday season, no matter how many gingerbread cookies you eat!
