Educational InsightsOne of the things I really enjoy about Riley, now that she is almost three years old, is her new capacity to play games.  Before, she was just too small to understand games with real rules.  Of course, we have always enjoyed a good round of peek-a-boo, building block towers or playing with stuffed animals, but I've longed for the day when we could play actual board games together.

Educational Insights has a great selection of family games, just perfect for toddlers and preschoolers.  They allowed Riley and I to review Bunny Hop, a fast-action memory game.  Keep reading to learn more!

I reviewed the Bunny Hop Game from Educational Insights, which retails for $29.99, but is currently on sale for $20.15 with FREE SHIPPING.

Educational Insights Bunny Hop Game

The farmers are in a frenzy!  Bunnies are hopping and hiding in the carrot patch, eating all the veggies.  Help the farmers catch these funny bunnies in a memory game of bunny "hide and seek".  Be the first player to collect at least one bunny of each color and you win!  Sound like a lot of fun, right?  It is!  Bunny Hop is designed for 2-4 players with children ages 4 years old and up.  There is absolutely no reading required and the rules are extremely easy to learn.  Within minutes, Michael, Riley and I were off playing in the carrot patch and having a great time.

I loved how this game required no batteries and was super simple, yet tons of fun.  You see, not every rabbit will actually pop up off the game board, and so the strategy is trying to remember which ones will and which ones are duds.  If the rabbit pops out of the hole on your turn, you get to keep it.  In order to figure out which color rabbit you will try to nab, you must roll the die and then select the appropriate rabbit.

Riley picked up on how the game was played very quickly.  The hardest part was just teaching her how to roll a die, since she's never done that before.  Once she got that part down, we finished up one complete game in about 7 minutes.

The first time we played, Michael left us both in the dust and won easily.  The next time though, Riley actually won, fair and square!  We all enjoyed playing Bunny Hop together and Riley has asked to play it many more times since then.

If you want to find a fun, family-friendly game for the entire family, especially the little ones, then I highly recommend the Bunny Hop Game from Educational Insights.  Who knew scrambling to catch a bunch of hopping bunnies could be such a good time?
