Any toy that can combine solid fundamental lessons with a great deal of fun will always be at the top of my shopping list. That's why I was so excited to have the chance to review the Math Slam Electronic Game from Educational Insights. Was this toy all I was hoping it would be? Keep reading to find out!
Read the question, scan the possible answers and slam the one that's correct! Better move quickly though for each 10-question game is timed and the faster you get through the questions, the better your score! Missed questions are recycled until they are answered correctly, ensuring comprehensive comprehension and mastery. Increasingly difficult levels, flashing lights and fun sound effects keep kids slammin' for more! The Math Slam Electronic Game is designed for children ages 5 years old and up, uses 3 "C" batteries (not included) and has the following features:
- 5 Game Selection Buttons
- Crystal-Clear Audio
- Large, Clear LCD Display for Questions
- Bright LED Displays for Possible Answers
With Math Slam, your children will have a slammin' new way to practice addition and subtraction, along with Algebraic addition and subtraction and even triple addition. This game is a lot of fun and can actually be quite addicting. I played several rounds and found myself being drawn into starting another game...and then another...
There are only two things that I would change about the Math Slam game if given the chance. First, I wish this game had the option to run on AC power instead of only using 3 "C" batteries. Battery power is great for travel purposes, but if a child is playing this at home or a friend's house, it would be so much cheaper and easier to have the option for AC power. Second, I wish the Math Slam game incorporated multiplication and division too, though I'm stoked that Algebra is already integrated into its questions.
Children always require a ton of practice to master their multiplication tables and Math Slam could be a terrific resource to help, if only multiplication problems were added. (I recently became aware that Educational Insights DOES make an electronic game where multiplication is included, and offers the option of an AC adapter too, called Digitz!)
If you would like to help your child become a math whiz by integrating basic lessons and fun, then I highly recommend the Math Slam Electronic Game from Educational Insights. Your child will love slammin' their way to straight A's this school year! :superstar:
