My 3-year-old daughter just loves playing games which involve a ton of movement.  At her age, sitting still is not an option!  I've found the most successful toddler games in our home have simple, clear rules and incorporate a lot of motion.  Hasbro must have had these goals in mind when creating the Elefun & Friends Elefun Snackin' Safari Game.  Keep reading to learn more!

I reviewed the Elefun & Friends Elefun Snackin' Safari Game from Hasbro, which retails for $14.99.

It’s a bouncin', snackin' barrel of fun with the Elefun & Friends Elefun Snackin' Safari Game! Grab your elephant with his attached springy truck and go to home base, then start bouncing your elephant's trunk on the snack cards to pick up a tasty snack! Once it's caught, run back to home base and drop it off, then get back to the snackin’ as quick as you can! Make a pile of snacks, and if your pile is the biggest at the end, you win!

Snatch up snack cards with your elephant's springy trunk!  Whoever grabs the most snacks wins!  Both elephant heads come with handles and springy trunks. Bonus game: Find the golden tutti frutti cake snack card and win! Press on the trunk to lock the spring in place for storage. Stretch out the trunk to unlock the spring.

This game includes:

  • 2 Snackin' Safari elephant heads
  • 2 handles
  • 2 elephant trunks
  • 13 Snack Cards
  • 2 Home Base Cards

Although the Hasbro Elefun & Friends Elefun Snackin' Safari Game incorporates simple rules and tons of movement, my daughter and I found that actually picking up the snack cards with the elephant's springy trunk was very difficult to do.  After a short while, we both became a little bored with standing over the cards and springing the trunk up and down repeatedly.  If the snack cards were easier to pick up, I think this game would have been great.

My daughter definitely enjoyed the novelty of the elephants' springy trunks and colorful snack cards, and the toy itself seemed well constructed and durable enough to stand up to her rough play.  Just keep in mind that only two people can play this game at a time, though game play is designed to go rather quickly.  If you have a larger group of kids, you could easily set up a Snackin' Safari tournament.

Elefun & Friends Elefun Snackin' Safari is designed for children ages 3 years old and up, needs no batteries whatsoever and requires only minimal adult assembly.
