You may not know this about me, but I am a total cereal junkie! As far back as I can remember, I've enjoyed eating cereals of all kinds, but especially those considered to be more healthy. Breakfast cereals are a great source of fiber, whole grains and essential vitamins and minerals. If you choose wisely, you can find a heart healthy variety which also tastes delicious!
I eat at least one bowl of cereal every day and think it makes the perfect late-night fare, early morning breakfast or on-the-go snack. As much as I love cereal, I've discovered that through the years, I've become quite set in my ways and always seem to reach for the same 4 or 5 options each and every time. That's why I was quite intrigued when Honey Bunches of Oats wanted me to give their original Honey Roasted flavor a try. Keep reading to learn more!
Post Honey Bunches of Oats combines great taste and nutrition, to help make your mornings bunches better. It's the perfect combination of crispy flakes and tasty, crunchy granola oat clusters with just a touch of honey. Back in 1986, a Post Foods employee and his daughter mixed together different Post cereals, creating what would later become Honey Bunches of Oats. Today, there are ten varieties of this cereal and it is one of the top-selling cereals in America.
I must admit that I didn't quite know what to expect, since there seemed to be a lot going on here. But once I added a little milk and took my first bite, I was hooked! This stuff is truly delicious and had a crunch that just wouldn't quit. Even when I was near the bottom of the bowl, which is when most cereals immediately turn to sog city, Honey Bunches of Oats kept going strong and delivered bite after bite of amazing crunch.
It's also a cereal that I feel good about serving to my family. It's made with four nutritious grains (wheat, rice, oats and corn) and offers the following benefits:
- 120 calories per serving (3/4 cup)
- Heart healthy (0g trans fat, 0g saturated fat, 0mg cholesterol per serving)
- Provides 9 essential vitamins and minerals
- 10g of whole grain per serving
This is definitely a perfect snack to take-along on all of your remaining summer adventures. Toss a chilled bottle of milk in an insulated bag along with your favorite variety of Honey Bunches of Oats and enjoy this yummy goodness while flying a kite, chilling at the beach, having a picnic or even doing yoga! It also makes a great breakfast to serve to the kiddos before they head off to school each day.
If you are like me and find yourself stuck in a cereal rut, be sure to take a chance and try Honey Bunches of Oats for yourself...I guarantee you'll love it too!

This is a great review. Makes want to grab a box out of my own cupboard but I think my teenage boy already ate it. My favorite is the original. I really have not had the chance to try any other flavors since I live in the middle of nowhere and the stores do not stock up on new stuff until it has been out for a long time.
