Children just love toys which help them imitate the tasks they see their parents doing everyday. Cooking, vacuuming, washing dishes...all of these things seem so grown-up and hold an endless amount of fascination for them. That is, until they get old enough to actually start doing these chores and then they want no part of them!
Mimicking others is a natural way for children to learn, and Learning Resources has a wonderful toy designed to hone your child's budding cooking skills: the Pretend & Play Pro Chef Set. I recently had the chance to review this toy with Riley. Keep reading to learn more!
The Pretend & Play Pro Chef Set is another great toy from Learning Resources in the Pretend & Play series. It's designed for children ages 3 years old and up and encourages imaginative play while also building fine motor skills. Here are the pieces included in this Pro Chef Set:
- Deluxe stock pot
- 2 Lids
- Wooden spoon
- Oven mitt
- Play food (chicken leg, carrot, corncob and fried egg)
- Write & wipe activity guide
Riley had such a great time playing with all of the professional-looking cooking tools included in the Learning Resources Pretend & Play Pro Chef Set. She spent hours playing "kitchen" and preparing plenty of yummy treats for both her father and I to eat. I loved how her imagination and creativity were really stimulated by this toy, and especially how easy this set was to integrate in with her other toys, such as a play food set and pretend kitchen setup.
If you're shopping for a special little boy or girl who would like to help more in the kitchen, but are still too young to do so, then by all means, let them imitate you with the help of the Learning Resources Pretend & Play Pro Chef Set.
