Colossal Christmas Countdown:

35 Days Until Christmas!

There's few things more magical in the eyes of a child, than the night before Christmas.  Even long after the magic has faded and Santa Claus isn't quite as believable as he once was, we still recall the joy and excitement that came with being a small child on Christmas Eve.

RedEnvelope has found a very unique and beautiful way to create an instant family tradition and help capture the magic of the season for your children.  It's called the Night Before Christmas Activity Kit and it contains all of the essential ingredients for a lifetime of treasured Christmas Eve memories.  Keep reading to learn all about what's inside!

I reviewed the Night Before Christmas Activity Kit from RedEnvelope, which retails for $29.95.

The Night Before Christmas Activity Kit is a large red present wrapped with an ivory bow, which will look perfect under your Christmas tree right away.  What separates this present from the others your tree may already contain is the unique set of instructions located on the outside.

The large green label instructs your family to open this present by December 24th and tucked inside the green label is a large laminated card with specific instructions on how to use the present.  These instructions are from Santa himself and tell your children exactly what he'd like for his special visit to your house later that night.

The first thing Santa instructs your children to do is to play plenty of Reindeer Games.  Thankfully, there is a large full-color book inside the Night Before Christmas Activity Kit which details a wide variety of games and crafts to keep your children occupied and thinking of the big day ahead.  I was very surprised at the amount of wonderful activities included in the Reindeer Games book, which are geared for both younger and older children alike.

Next, Santa wants to be sure he has a snack waiting for him when he arrives at your house.  That's why there is a set of six Mrs. Fields' chocolate chip cookies and two packets of Mrs. Fields' hot cocoa mix.  Why two packets of cocoa?  Because Santa loves to share and encourages your child to drink a mug of cocoa and nibble on a few cookies too!  I thought that the ceramic plate and mug were both very beautiful and immediately made me feel nostalgic.  These two dishes are sure to become instant family heirlooms.

Santa's final instruction is to gather with family and friends and have his favorite story, "Twas The Night Before Christmas" by Clement Clarke Moore read to everyone there.  This classic poem is printed on an official looking scroll and is sure to capture the imagination of every child at bedtime.

What a perfect ending to a Christmas Eve filled with wonder and joy!  Now you can ensure that your children will have "visions of sugar plums" dancing in their heads.  I highly recommend the Night Before Christmas Activity Kit from RedEnvelope and can't wait to use it with my own daughter this Christmas Eve and for years to come!  If you are looking for wonderful Christmas gifts for the family, then RedEnvelope is a great place to start shopping.
