Protect a Bub 4-Season Weather Shield for ALL Single Strollers with a Canopy

Here in Texas, we have two things in mass quantities...sunshine and mosquitoes!  Both of which we all need regular protection from.  When children ride in strollers, they are often the most susceptible to the sun's harmful rays, bug bites  and inclement weather.

You could always try slathering on the sunscreen and bug repellent as well as outfitting them with hats, sunglasses, long sleeves and pants, but there's a much easier way that will protect your child no matter what the weather may bring...the Protect a Bub 4-Season Weather Shield.  Keep reading to learn more!

I reviewed the 4-Season Weather Shield from Protect a Bub, which retails for $49.99 with FREE SHIPPING on Amazon.com.

The dilemma…an Australian mom, concerned about exposing her "bub" to the harsh Australian sun is unable to find adequate UV protection for her baby when they’re out and about with the stroller.  The stroller canopy isn’t adequate, blankets draped over the canopy retain heat (when they don’t blow or slip off), and her pediatrician has recommended that she refrain from applying sunscreen to her baby’s sensitive skin.  What’s a mom to do?

The result…Protect-a-Bub is born.

I had the chance to review the 4-Season Weather Shield which is both pediatrician recommended as well as approved by the Melanoma International Foundation.  The protective screen will fit ALL single strollers and joggers with a canopy and provides adequate protection from all of the following:

  • Sun
  • Wind
  • Rain
  • Bugs

This universal fit 4-in-1 stroller cover includes two additional panels which can be easily switched when the weather conditions change.  The clear rain/wind panel is completely waterproof and PVC-free and contains air vents so as to ensure air circulation and eliminate fog.  This panel is easy to remove and can be folded and stored in the handy travel bag (included) so that it's there when you need it.

There's also the sun/bug panel (my personal favorite) which is composed of UPF 50+ polyester microfiber.  This panel will block out 99% of the sun's UVA and UVB rays while protecting your child's legs too.  The mesh viewing window reduces glare and provides 70% shade, for a cooler and happier baby, as well as keeps the bugs AWAY!

Finally, if your child is taking a nap, the sun blockout panel is a must.  This UPF 50+ flap offers full UV protection, yet is breathable and won't retain heat.  There's even a handy side zipper so that you can get to your little one quick and easy when you need to.

I tried the 4-Season Weather Shield from Protect a Bub on our family's stroller and found that it did indeed fit as it claimed.  There was even enough material in the back so that I could cover the parent tray, which is perfect in the case of an unexpected shower or when the heat is at its worst.

This cover is secured with a few expertly placed strips of Velcro to keep it fastened onto your particular stroller.  It would seem to me that if you wanted to create an exact custom fit of the 4-Season Weather Shield for your individual stroller, all that would be necessary is to add a few more pieces of Velcro and VOILA!

What I love about the 4-Season Weather Shield is how quick and easy it is to both use and store.  Now there's no reason not to be prepared for any outdoor condition, including those pesky mosquitoes which plague us down here in the South.  During the warmer months, my family takes frequent strolls around our neighborhood and the best part is that now we no longer have to slather Riley in both sunscreen and bug repellent (which she hates) before we go.  Thanks to the Protect a Bub stroller cover, everyone is happy and my daughter is bug bite free!
