If there's one thing I take very seriously, it's my quality of sleep.  Since most moms, including me, tend to get so very little of it, when I lay down to go to sleep, I want to enjoy the rest I get.  There's nothing worse than waking up in the morning to a crying child, a laundry list full of chores, AND an aching neck and back!  This is why I search high and low to try and find the best out there when it comes to my mattress and bedding.

I've never experienced a shredded latex pillow before and was very curious to try one.  Savvy Rest was generous enough to allow me to review their Organic Shredded Latex Pillow, so as to experience the benefit of a truly customizable pillow.  Keep reading to find out if it worked out well for me.

*** UPDATE *** I just wanted to update this review to let you know that I was sent a brand new pillow cover without even asking for it.  The sponsor read my product review about the faulty zipper on my current pillow cover and automatically sent me a new one.  Now, that's great customer service!

The only kinds of pillows I've ever slept on were either stuffed with polyester fiber fill, goose down, or a combination of down and feathers.  Although I love how soft and snuggly goose down pillows feel, they tend to compress much too easily and end up very flat and hard, which doesn't support my head and neck well.  The polyester fiber fill is a hit or miss situation, since you don't get any customizable options as to how soft or firm your pillow is.  Also, the fiber fill tends to clump up into large balls after a while and this makes the pillow virtually unusable.  

So I was intrigued when I saw the Organic Shredded Latex Pillow from Savvy Rest.  This pillow has a soft, organic cotton casing, with a brushed, flannel-like finish.  Inside, this pillow is overstuffed with soft, shredded latex composed of a blend of Dunlop and Talalay.  The result is a truly customizable pillow, for you can easily take out as much or as little of the shredded latex as you'd like by simply unzipping the two pillow casings.  Also, because the pillow is stuffed with shredded latex, you don't have to worry about the stuffing compressing quickly, as in the case of goose down, or balling up and becoming lumpy, as in the case of polyester fiber fill.

Of course, because this pillow is composed of natural shredded latex with an organic cotton pillow casing, you also can rest easy knowing that this pillow won't trigger your allergies.  I know several people who simply can't sleep on goose down or goose feather pillows because they will be up all night sneezing and wheezing.  With the Organic Shredded Latex Pillow from Savvy Rest, your allergies will sleep as soundly as you.

I really enjoyed sleeping on my customizable shredded latex pillow and have noticed a decrease in both neck and back pain upon waking.  I believe that this can be attributed to the fact that my Organic Shredded Latex Pillow actually supports my head and neck properly all through the night and doesn't break down or shift unnecessarily.

The only problem I noticed with this pillow was that the outer organic cotton casing was a little difficult to get off and on for the zipper kept getting stuck.  As a matter of fact, the upper right picture shows the zipper is closed as far as it will go.  Other than that, I couldn't be happier with my new shredded latex pillow and would recommend it highly to anyone wanting a more restful night's sleep.
