Colossal Christmas Countdown:

40 Days Until Christmas!

I have always thought one of the most relaxing things in the world is laying outside in a hammock, soaking up the sunshine and breathing in the fresh air.  Of course, being a mom has severely limited my time to just relax and having a permanent hammock set up in our backyard will never be a reality for me.

We just don't have the space or the proper positioning of trees in our backyard for this to work.  Thankfully, ThinkGeek had the answer to my hammock problem.  I was fortunate enough to have the chance to review their Portable Mesh Hammock.  Would this be the relaxation product I was always searching for?  Keep reading to find out!

I reviewed the Portable Mesh Hammock from ThinkGeek, which retails for $99.99.

I was so excited to review this Portable Mesh Hammock from ThinkGeek, because finally I would be able to take my dream of ultimate relaxation ANYWHERE!  I was already plotting how this would be so simple to use at the beach, by the pool, while camping or on vacation, and definitely in my own backyard.  But of course, I was concerned at how easy it would be to set up and to break back down again.

Luckily, there were very few parts contained inside the Portable Mesh Hammock's travel bag.  This hammock included the lightweight steel frame itself, which was one solid piece and required no assembly whatsoever.  The frame measures 98 inches long by 33 inches wide and will support up to 250 pounds.  It was very easy to unfold and I had it opened in seconds.

I was also thrilled at how easy this entire hammock was to carry.  The carrying bag had a sturdy shoulder strap as well as two durable straps so you could carry it in your hand too.  The complete Portable Mesh Hammock weighs 25 pounds, so it isn't something that you want to tote around for a long time, but it is definitely easy to carry short distances.

The hammock also included an inflatable pillow and the mesh hammock outdoor fabric bed itself.  Once the hammock's steel frame was opened up completely and both safety levers were locked into place, you only had to slide the two rings on either side of the mesh hammock bed onto the hooks of the frame and it was completely set up and ready to go.

I had a little trouble with this and it wasn't so easy to slide the rings onto the hooks.  Finally, with the help of my husband, we were able to get the bed attached.  My only recommendation for this product would be to decrease the distance between the two hooks or to make the hammock bed fabric a little longer, so that attaching the bed to the frame wouldn't be quite so difficult.

Before I was even able to lie down in my new portable hammock and give it a proper testing, my husband had commandeered it!  He said that it looked so comfortable, he just couldn't resist.  I have to agree with him, because I laid in the Portable Mesh Hammock for a long time before finally forcing myself to get up and continue on with my day!

When it was time to fold the hammock back up for storing in its bag, I couldn't get over how easy it was.  In a matter of minutes, this hammock was completely put away, with no fuss and no muss!

If you are looking for a wide variety of extremely unique and high-quality products, such as the Portable Mesh Hammock, then I would look no further than ThinkGeek.  They have anything and everything for that hard to buy for loved one on your list.  With ThinkGeek's Tactical Gift Finder, there's absolutely no reason you can't find the perfect gift for everyone this holiday season in a matter of minutes!
