I am one of those crafty gals who absolutely LOVES doing things with my hands.  Knitting, crocheting, painting, carpentry...if I can make it, I love doing it.  Now that Riley is getting older and is in need of a bonafide "big girl" room, I have thrown myself into making it super special for her.  She's already got a fabulous bed, fun furniture and a funky rug, but she desperately needed some "zing" for her walls.

I've always adored the way huge wall murals can completely transform a room, but since I'm no artist, I never thought this was a project I was capable of tackling...until now!  My Wonderful Walls has some of the most inventive and unique stencils, which are perfect for children's rooms.  I was fortunate enough to have the chance to review the Splendid Garden Stencil Kit.  Keep reading to learn all about it!

Since I am currently in the process of transforming Riley's room into a peaceful neighborhood garden, complete with plenty of birds and insects, I was thrilled to find the Splendid Garden Stencil Kit from My Wonderful Walls!  This garden mural kit is composed of 34 self-adhesive stencils of all shapes and sizes.  Everything you need for flowers, a picket fence, grass, a sun, plenty of animals and insects, and a huge 6.5 foot tall tree is included!

Because these are wall stencils and not wall decals, you can successfully use them over and over again, in any color combination you like.  I just knew that Riley's room would look phenomenal with the Splendid Garden Stencil Kit, for the bedding you see in the picture below is the exact same pattern that Riley already has!

The stencils from My Wonderful Walls are very easy to use, for they contain a self-adhesive on the back of them which will help the stencils stick to your walls so that your design can be painted cleanly.  This adhesive backing will last through about 12 applications and then after that, you can spray the back of the stencil with a stencil spray adhesive found at most craft stores.

You will need a few additional supplies such as paper plates, a fine-tip brush, extra foam brushes, etc.  You will also need to purchase the acrylic paint palette you want to use.  Acrylic paints can be found at many craft stores, or you can buy the paint for several palettes suggested by My Wonderful Walls to help you in creating the perfect look.

What's really great about My Wonderful Walls, is that they do their best to provide so many resources to ensure your stenciling success.  Not only will they help you in designing a custom paint palette, tailored specifically to your child's room, they also offer a host of pictures and how-to videos to guide you in your mural-painting journey.

I loved looking at the huge slideshow of pictures for the garden mural theme.  I got so many ideas from those pictures that I will definitely be applying to Riley's room, such as where to place the birdhouse and cool locations for the peacock!

Of course, who can deny all of the super cool stencils, mural kits and canvas wall art that My Wonderful Walls has to offer?  Actually, I'm thankful that we had already decided on the garden theme before I ever found My Wonderful Walls, for I would probably still be trying to make up my mind on which mural to paint!
