K'NEX I am a huge fan of building toys and discovered the K'NEX brand while I was a Science teacher. I learned right away that K'NEX sets are of the highest quality and always challenge children's imaginations. So naturally, it didn't surprise me when I learned that K'NEX has teamed up with one of the best kids' building toys of all time...Lincoln Logs!

Lincoln Logs have been delighting children for almost 100 years and this classic toy will probably be around for at least another hundred years.  Recently, I had the chance to review the Lincoln Logs White River Ranch set as well as the new Kid K'NEX Silly Monsters building set.  Keep reading to learn more!

K'NEX Lincoln Logs White River Ranch Your child can have a blast recreating an original log cabin complete with two roofs, a door and even a flag!  With 90 building pieces including a hay bale, trough, dog, cow, horse and cowboy figures, your child can build several different styled log cabins with extra pieces left over for a fence or other outdoor structure.  Use the included instruction sheet for building ideas or encourage your child's imagination by allowing them to build freely.  This 90-piece set includes:

  • 79 Lincoln Logs
  • 1 Door, 1 Door Frame
  • 1 Add-on Roof
  • 1 Gable Roof
  • 1 Flag
  • 1 Trough
  • 1 Cow Figure
  • 1 Dog Figure
  • 1 Horse Figure
  • 1 Cowboy Figure
  • 1 Hay Bale
  • Instructions

Riley absolutely loved the Lincoln Logs White River Ranch from K'NEX, for she couldn't get enough of the cowboy and horse figurines included. She literally spent over an hour playing "farm" with all of the logs and characters in this set.  I liked how open-ended the pieces were, for with a little imagination, you could build so many neat things.

Riley really enjoyed the Kid K'NEX Silly Monsters Building Set, for she thought the wacky eyeballs included in this set were hilarious and kept putting them on her stuffed animals and other toys too.  Of course, I appreciate how both the Lincoln Logs White River Ranch and the Kid K'NEX Silly Monsters pieces blend seamlessly with the other preschool K'NEX building sets Riley already has.  I feel good giving toys that challenge Riley at many different developmental stages as well as foster creativity and imagination, and the Lincoln Logs White River Ranch and the Kid K'NEX Silly Monsters Building Sets definitely do just that!

I'm a former 7th grade Science teacher turned stay-at-home mom that lives in Houston, Texas. I am married to my college sweetheart and have a beautiful daughter named Riley, who definitely keeps me on my toes! I am also involved in starting a small business which would both manufacture and sell an invention that I've patented, called Toothpaste 2 Go. I love interacting with my readers and hope to learn as much about you as you learn about me!
