Head Lice - The School House Louse

Lice Shield Products Protect Your House from the Back to School Louse

There are a lot of myths surrounding head lice, how and why children get them and where they come from.  Below are some of the most  commonly believed myths, dispelled!

  • Catching head lice is not associated with poor hygiene.
  • Head lice can't jump or fly or swim.  They are normally transferred by direct contact from head to head.
  • Head lice are not able to survive off the scalp for long, so while it's possible to catch them from clothing or hats, it's unlikely.
  • Children with shorter hair are just as likely to catch head lice as those with long hair.
  • You can only catch head lice from humans, so don't worry about your pets passing it on.
  • Itching is not always a sign of head lice infestation as only 30% of people suffer from itching caused by head lice.

Lice ShieldIn order to prevent head lice from spreading to other members of your family from someone who is infected, or to prevent everyone in your family from catching head lice to begin with, be sure to use Lice Shield.  The all-in-one Shampoo and Conditioner in 1 is gentle enough for daily use  and lathers well.  Remember, this shampoo is only a deterrent to catching a case of head lice and will not kill any louse already present in the hair.

Follow up with the Leave-In Spray for a super 1-2 punch to stop those head lice in their tracks.  The Leave-In Spray acts as an additional conditioner and detangler and helps the smell from the shampoo remain potent.  It's also a wonderful product to spray directly on items that frequently come into contact with human hair, such as hats, scarves and helmets.

Even if there is no head lice warning, you can use Lice Shield Shampoo and Conditioner in 1 or Leave-In Spray for everyday hair washing and hair care to help prevent head lice infestation.
