Our house has been turned upside down since the arrival of our visiting elf, Sapphire, from Elf Magic. I had no idea how much Riley would take to Sapphire, but since the day she showed up in our freezer, Riley hasn't let Sapphire leave her side. I've included several pictures here of the two lifelong friends as well as some of Sapphire's nightly capers.
Our day always begins now with Riley's frantic search around the house for her elf and the laughter that ensues as soon as she finds her. There's only been one slight problem so far... Riley doesn't want to send Sapphire back to Santa! I've caught Riley hiding her elf several times through the house and when I ask why she's doing that, she tells me that she's hiding her so that Santa doesn't come and take her.
I've explained over and over again that elves can't live this far South (due to the heat) and that Santa loves Sapphire so much that he would be forever sad if she didn't return to him. I've also told her numerous times that Santa desperately needs Sapphire's help to load the sleigh and deliver presents to all of the good boys and girls around the world.
This knowledge led Riley to a new revelation... Riley and I will also be traveling to the North Pole with Santa! Geesh...the plot continues on how to part these two friends on Christmas Eve!
Anyone have any ideas? I'm ALL EARS!
