Ore-IdaMy family LOVES to grill in the summertime.  We're constantly outside finding new ways to prepare a delicious dinner while doing our best to cook everything directly on the grill...even side dishes.  Baked potatoes from the barbecue pit is a favorite of ours, but we're not huge fans of how long these little gems take to cook.

Isn't there an easier (and faster) way to enjoy mouth-watering grilled potatoes, without the wait?  Thanks to Ore-Ida, there most certainly is.  Keep reading to learn more!

Ore-Ida Grillers

Introducing Ore-Ida Grillers, thick cut potatoes that cook directly on the grill, making them crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.  In just 15 minutes, they go from frozen to grilled – a fraction of the time it takes to cook a whole potato on the grill.  And they are wide enough so they won’t fall through the grates of the grill, making it easy to cook them alongside meats and veggies for a complete meal the whole family will love.

Ore-Ida Grillers are perfect as a side dish for any family meal, offering a crispy and delicious alternative to a baked potato. Plus, they cook on the grill with the rest of the meal, so you can spend more time outside with family and less time in the kitchen.  They're currently available in two varieties – Golden Thick Cut for a classic potato flavor, or Seasoned Thick Cut with a blend of black pepper, garlic and herbs.

They can also be customized by brushing with a favorite sauce or adding toppings like sour cream and chives or shredded cheese for a twist on the classic loaded baked potato.

Glazed Chicken and Grillers

Ore-Ida GrillersPrep time: 3 minutes

Cook time: 15 minutes

Serves: 6 to 8

  • 1 bottle (10 ounces) Heinz 57 Sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 8 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves

Directions:

  • Put Ore-Ida Grillers on a hot grill and cook according to package directions.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together Heinz 57 sauce and honey.
  • Grill chicken over medium heat for 4 to 6 minutes. Brush both sides liberally with sauce mixture, turn over and grill for additional 4 to 6 minutes, or until cooked to desired doneness.
  • Cook until chicken is no longer pink, or to an internal temperature of 165°F.

My family loved the thick, crispy slabs of grill-ready potato from Ore-Ida.  Both the Grillers Seasoned Thick Cut Potatoes and the Grillers Golden Thick Cut Potatoes were delectable, but my clan tended to prefer the season-less variety which gave us a blank canvas to spice up as we pleased.  Make your summer grilling efforts much easier and forget the extra preparation involved with side dishes.  Simply throw the new Ore-Ida Grillers on the pit, relax and enjoy!
