When you see the word, Clearasil, you probably think of a teen or tween in need during their never-ending battle against acne.  I wish that were the case here, but unfortunately, the acne battle has been waging in my own home for over 20 years and the warrior is me.  It seems that I've been cursed with a great big 'ol case of "adult acne" and I frequently look to Clearasil to help keep it under wraps.

One of the things I hate about having to use acne face washes and other acne fighting creams is the overall drying effect they have on my skin.  Having adult acne means that I am caught in a constant fight between keeping my face clear from breakouts and still keeping it moisturized so that I don't cause undo wrinkles and other signs of premature aging.  I never thought about it before, but the amount of product you use can be one of the sources of over-drying.  Use too much face wash and you could reap those nasty drying side effects, but use too little and there goes your clear complexion.

While I don't know whether or not my face got any clearer thanks to the Clearasil PerfectaWash, since I didn't have too many pimples or bumps at the time of my testing, I do know that it definitely helped with my dry skin.  I liked using the Superfruit Splash as my morning cleanser and the Soothing Plant Extract as my nightly cleanser and am strongly considering purchasing a second dispenser so that I will no longer have to switch the refill bottles back and forth.

If you happen to have pale skin like me or skin that seems to get red and inflamed easily, you might want to try the Soothing Plant Extract variety first.  This definitely seemed to help calm my skin down a bit and not appear so red and blotchy.  Both formulas had a terrific smell and lathered well.  My face didn't seem dry or itchy afterwards and felt slightly moisturized instead.
