Colossal Christmas Countdown:50 Days Until Christmas! |
|
As a parent of a toddler, I am always on the lookout for fun and educational toys which will inspire Riley's imagination and creativity. Of course, I'm not a child development expert and it is helpful to be able to shop for her toys by age group, so that I'm guaranteed to purchase something she'll both enjoy and understand. Discovery Toys is a company that believes in providing high-quality learning toys for your children and even has them classified by appropriate age groups so as to make shopping a breeze! I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to review the Castle Marbleworks toy with Riley. Keep reading to find out if my fair maiden loved her new castle or not. |
As soon as I placed the Castle Marbleworks box in front of her, Riley was eager to play. I think she loved the bright primary colors she saw and thought that it was very interesting, even though she wasn't sure exactly what it was. This toy couldn't have been any easier to assemble and is so easy, in fact, that the child herself is encouraged to do it. There were five different colored stackable tracks which stack onto the castle base. There were also three giant marbles which jingled and two yellow turret pieces that completed the castle's look.
I followed the directions and quickly assembled the tracks and turrets onto the castle base and then the fun began. Riley couldn't wait until I was finished so that she could start dropping the marbles down the tracks. Only one of the yellow turrets has a hole in it so that the child can immediately tell which side the marble should descend from. I have to admit that this toy is extremely fun and engaging to watch. I found myself mesmerized by the marble's path and was shouting "Go, Go, Go!" right along with Riley.
My favorite part of the Castle Marbleworks toy has to be the green track, which has a large vortex portion in the middle which causes the marble to funnel around and around and around before finally dropping into the hole on this track. Sometimes the marble will only circle a few times before dropping down and other times, it seems that the marble will circle around forever! Riley also loved opening and closing the door on the castle base so that sometimes the marbles would escape at the end of their journey and other times they would stay pent up inside the castle's walls.
Riley and I both loved the Castle Marbleworks toy from Discovery Toys. She just thought it was cool and a blast to play with, while I enjoyed it for I knew it was providing an educational experience at the same time. For instance, the Castle Marbleworks toy helps Riley learn or experience the following:
- Practice construction possibilities;
- Understand concepts of parts-to-whole;
- Explore positional concepts: in, out, on, under & through;
- Observe gravity in motion;
- Predict path balls will take through the run;
- Practice fine motor dexterity;
- Understand cause & effect;
- Experiment with different construction possibilities and outcomes;
Now that's a toy that packs a punch! This is the type of quality selection that Discovery Toys carries, which is why I recommend them highly when shopping for toys this holiday season. They carry toys geared for children up to 8 years old, so if you're looking for a toy that both you and your child will adore, check out Discovery Toys!
