Since I've passed 30 long ago and am now nearing 35 years old, I've decided to start taking better care of myself. One of the easiest ways I've found to do this is by taking daily dietary supplements to help fulfill the essential vitamins and nutrients that my diet may not be supplying. Admittedly, I do not eat the proper amount of fresh fruits and vegetables and so am probably lacking the natural fiber that supports a healthy digestive system.
Thankfully, FiberChoice has made obtaining the recommended amount of dietary fiber extremely quick and easy, just like taking my vitamins. I had the chance to review a FiberChoice product of my choice. Keep reading to find out more about why a dietary fiber supplement could be just what you need to jumpstart a healthy lifestyle.
Our digestive system performs a constant "balancing act" between good, healthy bacteria and unhealthy bacteria. When the levels of bacteria are balanced, the body functions well. However, stress, poor diet and certain medications can disrupt this balance, allowing bad bacteria to multiply. Good bacteria help to keep the number of unhealthy bacteria in check.
The main ingredient in FiberChoice tablets is inulin, the same healthy fiber found naturally in many fruits and vegetables. Inulin is "prebiotic," which means it nourishes the friendly, "good" bacteria in the digestive system. The prebiotics in FiberChoice help probiotics grow and thrive to maintain a healthy, balanced digestive system and promote full-body health.
It was a sobering fact when I realized that, according to the American Dietetic Association, most people only get half the recommended daily allowance of fiber. We need 25 to 30 grams of dietary fiber each day, but most of us get only 12 to 15 grams a day. Because most Americans' diets lack fresh fruits and vegetables in adequate amounts, we aren't receiving enough dietary fiber and we are also missing out on essential antioxidants provided by fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables. This is the reason I decided to choose the FiberChoice plus Antioxidants Fiber Supplement to review.
FiberChoice plus Antioxidants contains the natural goodness of fruits and vegetables, condensed into a delicious, chewable tablet. Along with fruit and vegetable fiber to cleanse your system, FiberChoice plus Antioxidants contains a powerful blend of important antioxidants:
- Vitamin C
- Vitamin E
- Beta Carotene
I thought these chewable tablets tasted great for they were Berry Pomegranate flavored. I also loved that they were sugar free, for I don't need any extra calories sneaking into my supplements. The only thing that slightly disappointed me was how many FiberChoice I would have to eat if I wanted to get my recommended daily allowance of fiber. In order to receive 4 grams of dietary fiber, you should chew two of the FiberChoice tablets.
If I am truly lacking 13-15 grams of dietary fiber, then I would need to eat at least six or seven tablets a day. The instructions on the bottle recommend consuming no more than five tablets per day. So just know that in order to receive your full daily allowance of fiber, you will also need to increase your intake of fresh fruits and vegetables and not rely solely on the FiberChoice tablets.
FiberChoice is available in four formulas: Original,Weight Management, Plus Calcium, and Plus Antioxidants, perfect for everyone's busy lifestyles and taste preferences. These products are available at all local food, drug and discount stores. Jumpstart your healthy lifestyle by incorporating FiberChoice and fresh fruits and vegetables into your diet for a healthy digestive system and improved overall health.
