I can't count the number of times that I've had mere MINUTES to try and fix my hair when we need to go someplace.  Once you pack the baby's bag, feed her, bathe and dress her, and then bathe yourself, there isn't much time left for styling!  I know you busy moms out there know exactly what I'm talking about!

Well, what if I told you that now there is a way to go from the shower to styling your hair WITHOUT having to blow dry it first?  This would save me AT LEAST 15 precious minutes when getting ready!  This is why I was so grateful to have the opportunity to review the Avanti Wet-Dry Nano-Titanium Ceramic Silver Digital Flat Iron from Flat Iron Experts.  Does this flat iron live up to the hype?  Read on to find out!

I reviewed the Avanti Wet-Dry Nano-Titanium Ceramic Silver Digital Flat Iron (1-3/8") from Flat Iron Experts, which retails for $259.99 CAD (Canadian Dollars).  Currently though, Flat Iron Experts has this flat iron on sale for only $159.95 CAD!

I couldn't wait to try out the new Avanti Wet-Dry Nano-Titanium Ceramic Silver Digital Flat Iron from Flat Iron Experts!  I am always in a rush to get ready and don't exactly want to think that I look like it!  This way, maybe I can finally take a little more care with my makeup and look more polished.

Sure enough, it wasn't long until I had the opportunity to put the Avanti Wet-Dry Flat Iron to the test.  I took a shower and towel dried my hair well.  I then plugged the iron in and noticed that an indicator light came on.  Next, I pressed the on/off button and immediately the temperature on the flat iron started to climb.

Because my hair is so fine and it is also chemically colored (a nice way to say bleached), I kept the Avanti Wet-Dry Flat Iron on the lowest setting.  Three hundred degrees Fahrenheit seemed like a nice, round number and that is the temperature I used.  Here is what temperature range the instruction booklet recommends for each hair type:

  • Delicate, thin hair:  280 degrees F - 340 degrees F
  • Normal hair:  340 degrees F - 380 degrees F
  • Thick, coarse hair:  380 degrees F - 430 degrees F

The Avanti Wet-Dry Flat Iron heated up very quickly and when the lights on the flat iron stop flashing, you know that your desired temperature has been reached and it is ready to use.  I really liked the 1-3/8" size of the ceramic plates.  This, in my opinion, was a perfect size for the plates because they were wide enough to straighten fairly large sections of your hair, but small enough to still give you a lot of control and get in tight areas to straighten small sections of hair around your face.  The Avanti Flat Iron was very comfortable to hold while styling too and extremely LIGHT in my hand.  All of my other styling tools are much heavier than this one.

The only thing that was a little scary at first while using this flat iron was how at times you would see steam come off your hair.  I expected this since you knew the water on your hair was going to have to go somewhere, but once I realized that this iron was not damaging my hair even though steam was being released, I felt fine again.

One safety note I'd like to mention though.  Since the Avanti Wet-Dry Flat Iron has the potential to reach such high temperatures to style thick or coarse hair, you must remember that steam will most definitely be released then.  If you have thick or coarse hair, it is recommended that you blow dry the roots of your hair first so that you don't accidentally burn your scalp with the steam that could come off your hair.

The really great thing about the Avanti Wet-Dry Nano-Titanium Ceramic Silver Digital Flat Iron is how well the plates of this iron protect your hair!  Ceramic plates are a must for any type of heated styling tool for they emit negative ions which help your hair retain moisture, smooth your hair cuticle and cause less overall damage.

I currently use styling tools which have ceramic plates and love the results.  What makes this flat iron different from anything else I've ever used is the Nano-Silver technology on the plates themselves.  Silver is a natural microbial agent and helps to keep bacteria, viruses, etc. at bay.  But the thing I noticed most of all about the silver infused ceramic plates, is how this flat iron just GLIDED right through my hair with absolutely no friction!

I couldn't get over how easy it was to style my hair with this Avanti Wet-Dry Flat Iron!  I went from shower to styling in a matter of minutes and completely cut out the blow dry.  My hair looked wonderful and I can now thank the Avanti Wet-Dry Nano-Titanium Ceramic Silver Digital Flat Iron for giving me 15 minutes of my time back which eases my hectic schedule!
