GlaStor 4-Piece Square Set of Glass Storage Containers from Tribest

Rate this post

Recently in my life, I have really become concerned with my health.  Now don't get me wrong, I'm not having any health problems per se, but I feel like my body has been needing a "healthy tune-up" since I weaned Riley from breastfeeding 10 months ago.  My hormones were in a constant state of flux and my weight started to increase.

For the last six days, I have been on a juice fast, whereby I eat nothing and must drink 32-64 oz. of fresh fruit and vegetable juice each day.  Is it hard?  In the beginning, yes.  But I've just found one thing which has made my juice fast a little bit easier for me.  Let me tell you all about the GlaStor 4-Piece Square Set of airtight glass food storage containers!

I reviewed the GlaStor 4 piece square glass storage set from TribestLife, which retails for $39.95.

It's amazing how many raw fruits and vegetables I am "consuming" by just juicing them instead of eating them!  For instance, today I made two of the following drinks, plus one mini drink of straight orange juice:

  • (2) oranges
  • (1) stalk of celery
  • (10) strawberries
  • (1) radish
  • (2) leaves of romaine lettuce
  • (1) carrot

Now, mind you all of this produce must be washed, skinned or peeled if necessary and cut small enough so as to fit in my juicer.  That's a lot of prep work to do each and every time you need to juice!  TribestLife sent me the GlaStor 4-Piece Square Set of glass containers which are extremely useful in allowing me to prep large amounts of fruits and vegetables at once.

These glass containers are made with extremely thick glass and they have plastic snap-on lids which form an airtight, silicone seal.  They can be used anywhere:  in the dishwasher, microwave, freezer, refrigerator and even the oven!  (Largest sized 3.3L container is not oven safe)

Because they are airtight, they will keep any food you store inside of them fresher for much longer and you can store anything from soups, breads, pastas, fruits and veggies.  Also because these containers are made of heavy-duty tempered glass, you won't have to worry about chemicals from the plastic leaching into your food in the microwave or oven.

You also won't have to worry about any staining of the container with foods such as tomato sauce, carrots, etc.  I also like the fact that they are made of clear glass so that I can immediately tell what I've stored inside as soon as I open my refrigerator!

I really love these GlaStor containers for they even make storage easy.  They all nest inside each other (even with the lids) so that you really only have to make room for the largest 3.3L size.  I have very limited kitchen cabinet space since I've somehow managed to stuff them with every kitchen gadget and appliance imaginable, so I really appreciate the nesting feature.

The only downside to these containers is the way they are packaged when they're shipped.  As you can see from the upper right picture, my 1.0L square container was completely shattered upon arrival.  The packaging is fairly flimsy and there wasn't much separating these nested containers.  If GlaStor could find a way to package these containers more securely, then I would highly recommend them to you and your family for your everyday food storage needs.

What tips or techniques do you want to share to help us all be a little more healthy?

  • Hmm...I've never considered storing bread in a container like that, I think I may have to try it, we always just freezer ours and then take out the slices and thaw it, but it would be handier to have it out, soft if it would keep longer in a container.

A healthier tip I have, is that I have been taking sugar free drink mixes and then halving them with water. So for one of those single serve mixes, I make 32 oz of drink with it. I don't like to drink plain water, so this gives it just enough flavor without it tasting like "juice" and I end up drinking more water that way.

    • Hi Tammy! Thanks so much for this great tip! I hate drinking water too and will definitely have to give this a try! :)
