InSinkEratorIf you stop and think, it may boggle your mind at how many times hot water is required while in the kitchen.  Most anytime you cook, hot or boiling water is needed, just as it is when making a cup of tea or coffee, a bowl of instant soup or washing greasy, grimy pans.

If your kitchen is anything like mine, it seems to take forever for the running water to heat up and I shudder to think of how much water and electricity are being wasted just to provide a small amount of hot water.

If I instead choose to heat the water on the stove, a considerable amount of my time is wasted waiting for the water to turn hot.  That's why one of the newest kitchen must-haves on the market is an instant hot water dispenser.  Thankfully, InSinkErator generously gave me the chance to review the Instant Hot Water Tank and Instant Hot Water Dispenser.  Keep reading to learn more!

I reviewed the following products from InSinkErator:

Instant Hot Water Dispenser - Indulge Antique (F-HC2200PN) in Polished Nickel, which retails for $730.00.

Instant Hot Water Tank (SST-FLTR) with F-201 Filtration System included, which retails for $440.00.

In order to deliver instant hot water from your kitchen sink area, there are two items from InSinkErator that you will need which work together to make that happen.  First, the InSinkErator Instant Hot Water Tank (SST-FLTR) is a stainless steel tank and filtration system whose job it is to filter, heat and store the water that will be delivered instantly through your sink's dispenser.   This high-quality stainless steel tank and filtration system has been engineered for durability, convenience and piece of mind.

It has a 2/3 gallon capacity and delivers 200-degree Fahrenheit water in an instant.  This near-boiling, filtered water has so many typical kitchen and household uses, that you will find yourself using the InSinkErator Instant Hot Water System many times per day for tasks such as:

  • Washing Dishes
  • Cooking Pasta
  • Peeling Tomatoes
  • Making Instant Soup
  • Removing Candle Wax from Holders
  • Brewing a Glass of Tea
  • Making Gravy
  • Melting Chocolate
  • Making a Cup of Coffee
  • Loosening Jar Lids
  • Warm Baby Bottles
  • Clean Pacifiers and Small Toys

What's more, the InSinkErator Instant Hot Water Tank also comes complete with the F-201 Filtration System so that now, not only will you have instant hot water, you will have clean, fresh tasting water too.  That's one of the features of the InSinkErator Instant Hot Water System that I like the most.

You don't have to use this system to only deliver hot water, though it's so extremely fast at doing so that it can produce up to 60 cups of near boiling water in an hour.  Thanks to the included F-201 Filtration System and the cool water feature of the Indulge Antique Instant Hot Water Dispenser, you can use the InSinkErator system for producing great tasting filtered drinking water as well, right from the tap.

You may be worried about the difficulty in installing an instant hot water tank and dispenser such as this, but that's one of the beauties of the InSinkErator system too.  Installation really isn't too difficult as long as you have the necessary tools and kitchen layout:

  • Unswitched AC Power Under Sink (see picture above)
  • 1-1/2" hole in sink or countertop
  • Phillips and flat blade screwdrivers
  • Dedicated control valve
  • T-fitting
  • Adjustable Wrench
  • Drill

Unfortunately, my kitchen area does not come equipped with an unswitched AC power source under the sink.  As you can see from the picture above, the InSinkErator stainless steel tank is electric and must be plugged in directly to an AC power source.  Thankfully, because we are in the middle of a kitchen remodel, that is one of the requests we've made to our contractor.  So before ordering this system, check underneath your kitchen sink to make sure that your house is laid out so that you have an AC power source to plug the stainless steel tank into.

Perhaps my favorite feature of the InSinkErator Instant Hot Water System is the beautifully designed Indulge Antique Instant Hot Water Dispenser (F-HC2200PN) itself.  With this system, the dispenser is the only thing you will actually see in your kitchen and I have absolutely fallen in love with the overall styling and sleekness of the Indulge Antique dispenser.  I chose the polished nickel finish for it complimented the other kitchen accessories and appliances I already owned perfectly.

The InSinkErator Indulge Instant Hot Water Dispensers are sold in three styles, the Antique, the Tuscan and the Contemporary, which are sure to compliment a wide variety of kitchen decor.  They also make each of these designs to have either one lever (for delivering hot water only) or two levers (for delivering both hot and cool water) depending on your preference.  What's more, the Indulge Instant Hot Water Dispensers even come in 9 or 11 beautiful finishes to appeal to everyone's tastes.

InSinkErator Instant Hot Water Tank and Dispenser

I absolutely can't wait to have my kitchen remodel completely finished so that I can install the InSinkErator Instant Hot Water Dispenser, Stainless Steel Tank and Water Filtration System. Not only will I enjoy the ultimate in convenience and simplicity while delivering near boiling water in an instant, I will also save money on both my water and electric bills by eliminating unnecessary waste while waiting for the water to heat up.

Because InSinkErator also stands behind their products with a "We Come to You" In-Home Service Warranty of 3 years for the Instant Hot Water Tank and Filtration System (SSR-FLTR) and 5 years for the Instant Hot Water Dispenser (F-HC2200PN), I won't have to worry about either the durability or performance of this system.  For me, the InSinkErator Instant Hot Water Delivery and Filtration System is definitely the new kitchen essential!
