Joovy Family Gear Finding a great stroller is an absolute MUST for any parent. There are so many out there to choose from, so how do you know which one will best suit your needs? When we bought our stroller, I specifically chose one of the infant travel systems simply because I knew that we would be getting our infant in and out of the car a lot and I wanted a stroller to work with the infant seat I had.

Also, I didn't want to have to buy an additional stroller once Riley grew out of the infant stage. Sadly, the infant travel system made it so that I had to compromise what I really wanted in both the infant car seat AND the stroller we bought. Neither of them had the features I really wanted, but I felt that I had to compromise simply to save money and have them work together.

Fortunately, Joovy has created a super affordable answer to this dilemma and actually made a stroller that will take your child from infant to big kid. Let me introduce you to the Joovy Scooter!

I reviewed the Scooter Strollerin Orange from Joovy, which retails for $149.99.

The first thing that excited me about the Joovy Scooter was when I opened up the box and found that this stroller was almost completely assembled for me!  I was doubly excited when I started reading the instruction booklet and read the words "No Tools Required".  One of the things I dread is a box full of tiny parts with a thick instruction booklet included.  I would much rather spend my days doing something with my family, rather than assembling a stroller, and Joovy made sure that the assembly of the Scooter was quick and painless!

The Joovy has front wheels which can either swivel 360 degrees, or lock in place so that they only go straight.  These front wheels can be locked and unlocked by simply sliding the gray lever back and forth.

I noticed that the Joovy Scooter also has linked rear wheel brakes which are very easy to apply and disengage.  Simply step down or pull up on the metal bar connecting the two rear wheels and you'll be stopping and starting the Scooter in no time flat!  The Scooter also has a large and roomy mesh basket underneath, which is perfect for storing any packages you might have bought while on the go and is a great place for that large baby bag I always seem to be carrying!

If you are planning on using the Joovy Scooter with a small child, you will be happy to find that the leg support on this stroller is adjustable and can folded all the way up as in the lower left picture.  This feature almost turns your stroller into a bassinet of sorts and when the seat is reclined all the way, your baby can be comfortable and take a nap while traveling.  For older children, the leg support folds all the way down so that it resembles any other stroller.

I really liked the mesh pockets located on both sides of the insides of the stroller.  Since the Scooter doesn't have a snack tray for your little one, the mesh pockets can play this role instead.  Your child can easily store their pacifier, sippy cup, snacks, toys, etc. inside these pockets so that they can access these items at any time.  The bumper rail also has a removable zippered cover so that it can be tossed in the wash once dirty little hands have stained it up.

The Joovy Scooter also has a removable fabric cover on the bumper bar for easy cleaning.

The rear window of the canopy can either be open, as shown in the lower left picture, so that you can view your child inside, or closed.  There is a Velcro attachment which makes opening and closing this rear window a breeze!

The rear of the canopy can also be unzipped completely, leaving the back open and exposed for maximum air circulation on hot days.  It can also be zipped shut so that you can access the attached pocket.  In the South, I would tend to leave this part off of the canopy, but the bad thing is that if I did, I'd lose the zippered pocket where I would choose to store my keys, cell phone, etc.

There is a handy drink holder which snaps between the handlebars of the Scooter.  It is the perfect size for carrying a can of soda or a 20 oz. drink too.  Unfortunately, you cannot carry your cup of Starbucks coffee around, since it clearly says that this cup holder is not made for hot drinks.  I was a little disappointed in this, since I frequently drink Starbucks coffee while on the go with Riley.

Unfortunately, the drink holder is not made to hold hot beverages...Oh No, NO COFFEE!

The bottom left picture shows the Scooter folded up.  I have to admit that this stroller doesn't fold as flat as I expected and because of this, you may or may not find its thickness a problem.  I also must tell you that it was not very easy to fold and unfold.  I guess I'm used to strollers which all say that they can be folded using just one hand.  The Scooter will admittedly take two hands to fold and because you must pull the triggers on both sides all the way up and rotate the stroller downward, I found myself using both hands and most of my upper body to fold it.

These latches were not very easy to use. This stroller is definitely not able to be folded with only one hand.

Even though there are some drawbacks to the Joovy Scooter, such as the cup holder, no snack tray and difficulty folding it up, I still think this is a must-have stroller.  I have seen many strollers with these same features costing much more, and this is a very stylish, comfortable and versatile stroller.  Since this stroller is also compatible with the following Graco infant car seats *, I think this is a wonderful "one-stop shop" stroller which will take your child from the hospital to kindergarten!

* Joovy Scooter is compatible with Graco Snug Ride 32, Graco Safe Seat and Graco Snug Rider Series *

I think Joovy has created a terrific and affordable stroller with the Scooter. You can easily carry around an infant carrier/car seat or one toddler or child very comfortably. The Scooter has a ton of high dollar features for a really great price!  Now, the only stroller you need from cradle to big kid doesn't have to cost you a fortune and you can be ready for any family excursion, big or small!
