MY EXPERIENCE:
Riley and I were very happy to review the
Plan Toys Noah's Ark Organic Wooden Toy from Eden Home. This wooden toy is considered an eco-friendly toy for several reasons. It is crafted from organic rubberwood, built using E-Zero non-formaldehyde glue and colored with water-based dyes. This is wonderful because now you don't have to worry about your children ingesting something harmful if they happen to put parts of this toy in their mouth. The Noah's Ark Toy is specifically designed for children ages 3 and up, but Riley at 20 months old, absolutely loved it too!
Riley Inspecting the Noah's Ark Boat Carefully! |
Testing Out Putting the Animals on the Deck of the Boat. |
This toy was very easy to assemble and it literally took about one minute to do so. The roof, small cabin on top of the deck and the deck itself all come off and are not permanently attached to the boat. Through the use of wooden dowel rods, these pieces are easily installed and also easily removed. I wish that the small cabin was permanently affixed to the deck of the boat though. I don't really see the benefit of this piece coming off, if the roof of the cabin comes off. Also, my daughter can never seem to get the wooden dowels back in the small holes when she takes it off on her own. The deck coming off is a great idea though, because it makes for easy access to the animals once they are inside the boat. There's even a large door to the side of the boat where the animals can board. This door goes opens and closes for more realistic play.

Riley Taking the Deck Off and On of Noah's Ark Toy |
Riley loved pushing this boat around on the carpet and it slid rather easily too. She loved taking the deck on and off as well as removing the small cabin and its roof. Her favorite part of the Noah's Ark Organic Wooden Toy was the ANIMALS! This toy comes with 12 pairs of wooden toy animals in a variety of sizes, shapes and colors. Riley really loved sorting these animals out, having me tell her which animal is which and then making the appropriate animal noise, etc. We had so much fun playing with the small animals together! We counted the animals, matched the animals up in pairs, named the colors of the animals together, had the animals walk up the plank and go into the boat and carry the animals around in the boat. The possibilities for learning and storytelling with this toy are truly endless! I know that Riley really enjoyed this toy and she played with both the boat and the included animals for the rest of the day.
