If you have a Wii, maybe you're like me and bought it for the main purpose of working out. I thought that the Wii was so cool and unique and would finally get me over my habit of procrastinating when it comes to exercising. The Wii does definitely make working out a lot more interactive than watching an exercise video at home and it can even track your progress in several different areas of fitness. What has always been lacking though, is a way to incorporate resistance into these exercise fitness games. I personally use the EA Sports Active game and although it does come with resistance bands, these don't seem to work very well for me. The Riiflex controllers are a great way to add upper-body resistance into your play time on the Wii. There are many different kinds of boxing, baseball and tennis games which instantly become more challenging by adding the 2 lb. resistance. I like how ergonomic these weights felt in my hand. They were very easy to control and grip and didn't interfere with my controlling the Wii remotes either. They are also compatible with Wii MotionPlus, so you won't lose any of the interactivity of your Wii controllers simply by attaching these dumbbells.
The Riiflex provides you with a dumbbell for both the Wii remote as well as the Wii nunchuk. Unfortunately, I have some games which only use the Wii remotes, so if that is the case for you too and you want a dumbbell for both Wii remotes, you will have to buy another set of the Riiflex. Maybe in the future, Riiflex could start selling these controllers individually as well so that anyone could buy just one extra dumbbell for the Wii remote.
Now you might think that the Riiflex is just another toy add-on, which just isn't correct. You see, the Riiflex actually qualify as "Gym Quality" gear! As you can see, the Riiflex is one piece of gym equipment that is serious about having fun and bringing you results while exercising with your Wii! I couldn't be happier with this product for it is very durable, comfortable, easy to hold onto and doesn't interfere at all with your gaming experience. If you know someone who is currently working out using their Wii or just needs a way to make their current games a little more challenging, then I highly recommend this piece of "gym quality" equipment!
