Zak!DesignsMealtimes can often be a struggle with Riley unless she is adequately distracted.  This involves her father and I letting her play with a few toys while she eats, singing to her, begging and pleading with her, etc.  Zak!Designs must have had children like my daughter in mind when they created their very cool lines of kids' drinkware and dinnerware.  I was lucky enough to review the Toy Story 3D line of dishes and the following are my thoughts on these products.

PRICE:I reviewed the Toy Story 6-Piece Mealtime Set from Zak!Designs, which retails for $24.99 and included the following:  Right now, you can purchase this set on Amazon.com for $19.99!

  • Toy Story 3D Placemat
  • Toy Story 3D Fun Sip
  • Toy Story 3-Section Tray
  • Toy Story Funtime Tumbler
  • Toy Story Flatware

Michael and I love to go out to eat now and then, but since having Riley, it seems that our leisurely dinners have been turned into a frenzy of face-stuffing.  You see, Riley doesn't take very long to eat and we usually bring her food with us.  So, by the time the waiter actually brings out our meals, Riley is done eating and done with the restaurant.

The next twenty minutes then turn into an episode of Michael entertaining her while I shove food in my face and vice-versa...not exactly what you're looking for in a dining experience!  Since receiving the Zak!Designs Toy Story 6-Piece Mealtime Set, I noticed how much this dinnerware seemed to hold Riley's attention.  She marveled at the 3D placemat and 3D Fun Sip.  She began to realize how cool these two items looked when she moved them back and forth. She also really loved looking at Buzz Lightyear on the Funtime Tumbler, and can now successfully say the word, "Buzz"!

Suddenly, I had a crazy idea that just might work.  What if Michael and I brought her 6-Piece Mealtime Set with us to the restaurant.  Could we finally eat in peace and not like Kobayashi at the Coney Island Hot Dog Eating Contest?  The answer dear friends, is YES!  I packed up the Toy Story 6-Piece Mealtime Set into one of the many shopping totes I have lying around and I threw in a small toy or two for good measure.  Riley actually took her time and separated some of her food into the three compartments on her Toy Story tray.  She also played with her utensils and her placemat with the two toys we brought her.

Finally, Riley started gazing at her 3D Fun Sip again and playing with that too!  Whew...dinner was saved!  If you have a child who is giving you trouble when it comes to mealtime, try one of the nifty mealtime sets from Zak!Designs and see if it doesn't change both you and your child's outlook on eating!

I'm a former 7th grade Science teacher turned stay-at-home mom that lives in Houston, Texas. I am married to my college sweetheart and have a beautiful daughter named Riley, who definitely keeps me on my toes! I am also involved in starting a small business which would both manufacture and sell an invention that I've patented, called Toothpaste 2 Go. I love interacting with my readers and hope to learn as much about you as you learn about me!
