Solve Your Money Problems with Cash Bash from Learning Resources

Money:  some say it makes the world go round, but one thing's for sure...kids have to know how to use it.  Money math problems are oftentimes viewed as particularly challenging for younger students, so Learning Resources has developed a fun and easy way to strengthen basic money skills:  the Cash Bash Electronic Flash Card.

I reviewed the Cash Bash Electronic Flash Card from Learning Resources which retails for $16.99, but is currently on sale for $9.56 with FREE SHIPPING.

Cash Bash Enforces Basic Money Math Skills in a Fun and Easy Way

Got a minute?  The Cash Bash Electronic Flash Card is a great, hands-on way to practice coin identification, counting and basic money skills.  It's designed for children ages 7 to 10 years old and requires 3 "AAA" batteries (not included).  There are two levels of game play:

  • Level 1 - This level is great for younger players who have coin identification and counting experience, but who are just beginning to add coin values up to a dollar.
  • Level 2 - Select this level for a real challenge!  The level 2 version plays exactly as the level 1 game, except total amounts go up to $20.

The Cash Bash drill begins after a five-second countdown.  You now have 60 seconds to solve as many money problems as you can.  A money amount will display on the screen.  Press the coin and dollar buttons to add up to that amount.  You'll hear a positive sound for a correct answer and a negative sound for an incorrect answer.  At the end of 60 seconds, your score will be displayed.  The top number represents the number of problems solved correctly and the bottom number shows the number of problems incorrect.

At first, I was a little dismayed because I thought that you could only use the Cash Bash game with a 60 second timer, but I soon found out that you can disable the timer.  If you press and hold down the penny button, the timer will temporarily be disabled for that game, so that your child can practice solving unlimited money problems and take as long as they'd like to master the concepts.

Also, in order to save your batteries, the Cash Bash will automatically shut off if not played for a period of 3 minutes.

I think the Cash Bash Electronic Flash Card is a wonderful tool for helping to enforce those fundamental money math skills in a fun way which will have kids coming back again and again to better their score.  If you'd like to help your child "solve their money problems", then be sure to let them Cash Bash!
