SportsGuard One of the things I'm really looking forward to as Riley gets older is introducing her to the wide world of sports...especially softball.  I guess all parents live somewhat vicariously through their children and in my family, baseball has always reigned supreme.

I've played softball throughout my entire childhood and even for a short while in college.  Michael has also played baseball for most of his life and received a college scholarship to play baseball as well.  Even as an "old" adult, I still play softball whenever I get the chance and have been a part of many co-ed adult leagues.  So of course I know the joys of the game...as well as the dangers.

The one thing that troubles me about Riley playing sports though, is how easy it is to incur a serious, if not life-threatening injury.  I can tell you stories upon stories of how freak accidents have caused kids permanent disabilities.  Unfortunately, there's always a risk of that happening when you play competitive sports.  That's why I jumped at the chance to review the protective sports gear designed by SportsGuard.  Keep reading to learn more!

I reviewed the following items from SportsGuard:

HeadGuard, which retails for $19.99

StealthGuard, which retails for $19.99

XGrip, which retails for $12.99
Purchase the HeadGuard, StealthGuard and XGrip together for only $39.99.

SportsGuard HeadGuard SportsGuard HeadGuard

SportsGuard is the first and only company to offer sports head protection for baseball pitchers and infielders.  The HeadGuard was designed with young athletes' safety and comfort in mind.  It's been tested at a major university and shown to significantly reduce the impact of a baseball.

HeadGuard is lightweight, weighing less than three ounces, breathable, moisture resistant, latex free, soft and comfortable.  Once inserted, it's held in place by the baseball cap's sweatband.  You won't even know it is there protecting you.

Additional Features:

  • Unique pod-design and materials of specific density distribute energy from the impact-zone to maximize protection and performance.
  • Individual protection cushion-pods envelope the front and side of the head for maximum protection and its patent-pending design has multiple ventilation channels.
  • Specifically designed so that ventilation will occur through the exisiting holes in every baseball cap and the top and back of the caps.
  • Designed to take advantage of the existing sweatbands within each baseball cap.
  • Designed for youth baseball, however, since its inception we have found that it may also be used in adult softball and paintball.

The StealthGuard heart protector was designed with young athletes' safety and comfort in mind that typically play the infield against hitters with aluminum and composite bats.  It's been tested at a major university and shown to significantly reduce the impact of a baseball to the protected area.

The StealthGuard's unique pod-design and specific density materials distribute energy from the impact-zone to maximize protection and performance.  It is lightweight, breathable, moisture resistant, latex free, soft and comfortable.  You won't even know it is there protecting your young athlete.

The StealthGuard heart protector comes with TWO iron on Velcro fabric fusion patches and attaches to any two of your shirts, turning them into heart shields and offering state of the art protection.  The StealthGuard is comfortable, priced with parents in mind and even machine washable and dryable.

Finally, XGrip is a cushioned grip with a unique tread and pod-design with high-tech materials that gives extreme performance and comfort.  It eliminates the sting from aluminum and composite bats in cold weather.  XGrip gives your youth player extra confidence at bat and helps get them quick through the zone.  XGrip includes a roll of the self-adhesive cushioned black XGrip with tapered ends and a roll of blue cohesive tape for undergrip protection.

I feel much more at ease about Riley playing softball now, knowing that she will be protected from the impact of a line drive thanks to the SportsGuard protective sports gear she'll be wearing.  These products offer superior protection without sacrificing comfort or maneuverability.  Your children won't even realize they have these lightweight, breathable items on their bodies, but you'll breathe easier knowing that they're adequately protected from some of the more dangerous aspects of baseball.  All of this protection comes at a price anyone can afford too!

I'm a former 7th grade Science teacher turned stay-at-home mom that lives in Houston, Texas. I am married to my college sweetheart and have a beautiful daughter named Riley, who definitely keeps me on my toes! I am also involved in starting a small business which would both manufacture and sell an invention that I've patented, called Toothpaste 2 Go. I love interacting with my readers and hope to learn as much about you as you learn about me!
