The First YearsAs a parent, keeping our kids happy, healthy and safe is always top priority.  If you happen to have a child that's less than 57" tall or weighs less than 100 pounds, then they're undoubtedly using a car seat of some kind.  My daughter will be four years old next month and is very tall for her age.

Although I was under the impression that her current convertible car seat would last for many more years, we are already finding her to be growing out of it.  When looking for a toddler booster seat for Riley, we wanted something that would be super safe, super comfortable and super easy to use.  That's what led us to find the Compass B570 Pathway Booster Seat from The First Years.

I reviewed the Compass B570 Pathway Booster Seat in Elegance Red/Black from The First Years which retails for $99.99, but is currently on sale for $85.00 with FREE SHIPPING.

Award-Winning Toddler Booster Seat Offers Both Safety and Comfort

As soon as my daughter laid eyes on The First Years toddler booster seat, she was enamored with it.  She kept wanting to sit in it right out of the box and made plenty of comments as to how "comfy" it was and how it fit her so much better than her current "baby car seat".  Indeed, there are many elements and features of the Pathway B570 that make this one comfortable car seat for kiddos both big and small.

The First Years Compass B570 Toddler Booster SeatFor instance, the deep contoured headrest adjusts to six different positions ensuring that your child will be safe and cozy no matter their height.  The Compass B570 Pathway Booster Seat is designed to fit any child ranging in height from 38" to 57".  It's also the perfect booster seat for a child weighing as little as 30 pounds or as much as 100 pounds.  In order to safely use the B570 though, make sure that your child is at least 3 years old and meets both the height and weight requirements.

The Pathway B570 takes practicality to new heights with the rotating arm rests and removable cup holders.  The easy-off seat cover pads ensure that cleaning is also a snap.  Simply hand wash in cool water with mild soap and let air dry.  Soon, you'll be ready to roll again.

Pathway B570 Toddler Booster SeatAs for safety, The First Years' Pathway B570 has it in spades.  They were named the IIHS Best Bet Booster and even awarded more Five Star Overall Ease of Use Ratings than any other manufacturer.  Some of their amazing safety features include:

  • Side Impact Tested to International Standards
  • No Gap Back for More Torso Protection
  • Self-Adjusting Back for Better Installation
  • Lower Anchors to Secure Seat When Not in Use
  • Adjustable Shoulder Belts for a Perfect Fit
  • Taller Belt Path
  • Narrow Bottom Rails for Better Installation in Smaller Vehicles

Of course, safety features alone won't keep your child safe.  What's paramount is making sure that the toddler booster seat is also installed correctly and provides a really good fit.  Please watch the following video for a detailed guide to installing both backed and backless booster seats:

The First Years Compass B570 Pathway Booster Seat is a terrific safety device for your child and I recommend it highly.  This seat is so easy to use and install and fits my daughter like a glove.  What's more, I love knowing that this will be the last car seat we'll ever need, because it will support Riley until she grows to either 100 pounds or 57" tall.  If you're looking for a well-made, affordable, stylish and most importantly, SAFE way to travel with your child, then be sure to check out this toddler booster seat!
