YBikeSince the moment they are born, children are on a never-ending quest to get up and get going!  They first learn to crawl, then walk, then run and from there, they love anything and everything which can take them faster and farther than they could go before.  Kids love traveling on skates, scooters and bicycles, until finally...a car {shudder}!

YBike has created an entire family of unique wheeled kids' products which will have them rocking and rolling from 9 months old and up!  I recently had the chance to review two of their award-winning products, the YBike Pewi and YBike Glider.  Keep reading to learn more!

I reviewed the following two items from YBike:

YBike Pewi in Red, which retails for $64.99, but is currently on sale for $41.95 with FREE SHIPPING

YBike Glider in Green, which retails for $79.99, but is currently on sale for $69.99 with FREE SHIPPING

YBike Pewi YBike Pewi

The YBike Pewi is an innovative 2-in-1 toy which functions as both a walking buddy and a ride-on.  For children 9 to 12 months old, the YBike Pewi is the coolest, sleekest walker around.  However, unlike traditional walkers which place the child in a sitting position inside the walker, the Pewi actually enhances body and space awareness by having your child outside the walker.

In a traditional walker, a child does not learn to fall as he or she typically just sits or hangs in the unit. With the Pewi, the child stands freely in front using it only as an aid.  They can easily let go of the Pewi and sit on the ground any time they wish.  As soon as babies can pull up to stand and begin to take steps, the Pewi can be used as a stable push toy for walking practice.  Thanks to the Pewi's wide and long base, the toy won't flip over when the child leans into it and is an extremely safe way for them to explore their new world.

Pewi is also an innovative fun foot to floor ride-on toy for children 12 to 36 months old, weighing a maximum of 44 pounds.  The multi-directional movement of the caster wheels allows a child to easily control the Pewi with their feet.  Ideal for use on both indoor and outdoor smooth surfaces, the non-marking rubber wheels will not damage your flooring in any way.

The Pewi comes in 3 vibrant colors (Red, Pink or Blue) and is ideal for early stage balance and motor skill development.  It's also the perfect prelude to the innovative YBike family of balance bikes and scooters.

Although Riley was a little too old to use the Pewi, I can honestly say that I wish I would have known about this product much earlier for there's no doubt that she would have loved it.  The walker we used for her was the kind she sat in and she would always get so frustrated because she couldn't actually interact with any of the items she was walking towards.

I love how mobile and how safe the YBike Pewi is and how it finally provides that true sense of freedom all babies are yearning for.  Of course, because it also is a top-quality ride-on toy, the Pewi gives parents even more bang for their buck, which is always appreciated at this rapid stage of child development!

YBike Glider YBike Glider

Since Riley turns three years old this month {gasp} and marvels at the kids in our neighborhood who ride by on their scooters, I was thrilled to discover the YBike Glider.  The Glider is the ideal scooter for children ages 2 to 5 years old with a maximum weight of 44 pounds.  The lightweight, practical and functional design of this scooter is unique and especially kid-friendly.

The Glider has two large 125 mm x 24 mm urethane front wheels and a new super wide 100 mm x 50 mm urethane rear wheel.  It also contains a strong, reinforced plastic ribbed deck and aluminium handlebar, making it a great scooter for children to learn coordination and balance.  Easy to remove aluminium handlebar allows for easy storage and transport too.

Children lean with their bodies to steer it and step on the back wheel cover to brake.  Kids will enjoy freedom and adventure, all while building skills and self-confidence with the YBike Glider.

I was thrilled when I opened the box to the YBike Glider and noticed there were just TWO pieces inside!  Assembly literally just required snapping the aluminum handlebar into the base and voila!  All done!  Right away, I was impressed at the overall construction of the YBike Glider, for it seemed especially well-made and durable.  The large rubber grips on the glider's platform ensure that your child will always have a firm hold and not lose their footing while riding.

The wheels seemed especially sturdy and I loved that they were larger and composed of urethane, which made them grip the pavement well for a safe ride.  The handlebars were also large and comfortable to hold and made especially for little hands to use.  My daughter has a hard time steering most all of her other outdoor toys, even her tricycle, but because the YBike Glider asks your child to control it by leaning versus steering, my daughter was able to do it!

I was amazed at just how quick and easy she learned to ride the YBike Glider.  She took to this toy literally like a fish to water and loves how she can scoot all over the place!  Riley's rode the Glider to the park every day this week and I can tell how confident and grown-up she feels because she can finally ride a scooter just like all of the other kids in our neighborhood!

If you have a child under 5 years old that wants a taste of independence and increased mobility, then I highly recommend either the YBike Pewi or YBike Glider.  Both products deliver a well-made, kid-friendly toy that will provide your child with years of fun and freedom!
