This post brought to you by Boy Scouts of America. All opinions are 100% mine.

Being a Boy Scout is one of the true symbols of Americana, ranking right up there with apple pie and baseball.  The Boy Scouts of America is one of the largest youth organizations in the United States, with over 4.5 million members.

AdvertisementThe Boy Scouts of America's goal is to train youth in responsible citizenship, character development, and self-reliance through participation in a wide range of outdoor activities and educational programs.  Older age level Scouts also take part in career-oriented programs in partnership with community organizations.  Younger Scouts learn typical Scouting values such as trustworthiness, good citizenship, and outdoors skills, through a variety of activities such as camping, aquatics, and hiking.

Scouting embraces the role of the family and is constantly supporting and promoting healthy activities which get the entire family involved.  They are also at the forefront of teaching young men about combating childhood obesity through proper nutrition, physical fitness and living a healthy lifestyle.

The Boy Scouts have even begun incorporating technology into their teachings by rolling out a brand new curriculum which emphasizes STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).  By helping young men develop these essential technological skills now, they can ensure their competitiveness in today's world.

Although I myself do not have a son, there's no doubt that if I did, I would thoroughly encourage him to Be A Scout.  As a former Girl Scout, I can't say enough good things about the positive impact of the Boy and Girl Scouts of America organizations on our country's youth.

I'm a former 7th grade Science teacher turned stay-at-home mom that lives in Houston, Texas. I am married to my college sweetheart and have a beautiful daughter named Riley, who definitely keeps me on my toes! I am also involved in starting a small business which would both manufacture and sell an invention that I've patented, called Toothpaste 2 Go. I love interacting with my readers and hope to learn as much about you as you learn about me!
