Colossal Christmas Countdown:

18 Days Until Christmas!

Everyone knows that drinking water is essential to good health.  Of course, the quality of the water we drink is extremely important, for regular tap water can contain plenty of contaminants, such as lead, parasitic organisms and chlorine, which can all make us ill.  Because of our awareness of the dangers of tap water, bottled water is now looked at as a necessity.  Unfortunately, bottled water is a disaster for the environment and this water can also contain high levels of chemicals which have leached in from the plastic bottles themselves.

So what is a family to do?  How can we provide clean, safe drinking water for ourselves so that we don't compromise our precious health?  Zuvo Water has invented a water filtration system which is super simple to install and yet inexpensive to operate.  Keep reading to learn much more!

I reviewed the Zuvo ZPS-130 Water Filtration System from Zuvo Water, which retails for $299.99, but is currently on sale for $258.70 with FREE SHIPPING.

I was immediately impressed when I saw the Zuvo ZPS-130 Water Filtration System for myself.  It is a long tube with white caps on both ends and it's supposed to sit on top of your counter, next to the sink.  When the unit is off, you see the brushed aluminum finish of the tube.

But when the unit is turned on, this tube immediately turns a beautiful shade of blue because of the UV light inside, which is helping to rid microorganisms from your water.  Of course, if you'd rather not have the Zuvo Water Filtration System sitting on your countertop, you can always purchase the optional under-counter butler faucet kit, so that the Zuvo can reside under your sink instead.

You may be wondering exactly how the Zuvo Water Filtration System is able to deliver such clean, healthy water to you so quickly.  This is due solely to the patented 5-step UV/Ozone/Filtration Process which occurs inside of the tube.  Step 1 is where ozone mixes with your tap water to reduce odor contaminants and generally make your water taste better.

Water treatment plants use chlorine to do this, but ozone is much better since ozone leaves behind no chemical residue.  Step 2 is to expose the tap water to UV light.  This helps rid your water of live microorganisms.  Step 3 is a unique feature of the Zuvo called photo-oxidation.  This means that the ozone and UV light are now working together to treat contaminants and microbes.  Step 4 includes carbon filtration with lead removal.

After the harmful contaminants have been killed using both ozone and UV light, they are removed by the carbon filter.  This filter also converts residual ozone to fresh oxygen.  Finally, in step 5, your water is treated once more by UV light to ensure that only clean, maximally treated water leaves the Zuvo.

The Zuvo claims to rid your tap water of over 99% of chlorine, microbial cysts, particulates, lead and Saccharomyces Cerevisiae.  That's a pretty hefty filtration system!  So my next concern was, "How much will this cost to maintain?"  Many times, I've bought a machine which claims to clean and filter something, but found that I couldn't afford the filters or other consumables needed to keep the machine operating properly.

That's where the Zuvo Water Filtration System pleasantly surprised me. The replacement filters cost under $30 each and will purify up to 500 gallons of water and are recommended to be changed once every six months.  As you can see from the table below, this means that clean, healthy water will only cost you $0.06 per gallon.  Now, that's affordable!  :)

Of course, one of the major benefits of using the Zuvo Water Filtration System is the benefit to our environment.  Buying bottled water is such a wasteful activity which is contributing catastrophic amounts of waste to our already over-flowing landfills.  Look at the picture below to see how much waste could be saved from using  just one Zuvo ZPS-130 Water Filtration System and one replacement filter.  This picture blew me away!

If you are concerned about the quality of your family's drinking water and want to make sure they have only the best to put in their bodies, then I highly recommend purchasing a Zuvo Water Filtration System.  Not only will you help improve the health of your family by ridding their water of harmful contaminants, you will also help rid our environment of excess waste.  All of these benefits come at the price of only $0.06 per gallon too, so it's definitely a win-win situation!
