Review - The Chalk City Activity Kit Has the Cure for Your Kids' Summertime Blues

Chalk City So how many times do you expect to hear this infamous line from your kids this summer?  "Mom, I'm BORED!"  Summertime is a great season for kids to get out and about and explore the world around them, but oftentimes, they spend these months complaining that there's nothing to do.

Before you turn on the TV or allow them to play video games or surf the net, how about challenging them both mentally and physically to create something FUN...a Chalk City!  Keep reading to learn more!

I reviewed the Chalk City Activity Kit which retails for $49.99, but is currently on sale for $39.99 with FREE SHIPPING.

The Chalk City Activity Kit has all the supplies and ideas you need to create a variety of fun and educational activities for kids ages 3-13.  This outdoor toy comes complete with 20 pieces of chalk, mesh storage bags to keep everything together, as well as the following:

  • Road Maker
  • Set of 3 Road Sign Stencils (Stop Sign, Turn Left/Right, Straight Ahead)
  • Set of 3 Obstacle Course Stencils (Spin Right/Left, Hop Both Feet, Jumping Jacks)
  • Activity Booklet

I love the included Chalk City activity booklet because it serves as a great source of inspiration that gets your child thinking in the right direction on how best to use the stencils and Road Maker.  By checking out the designs and guidelines in the booklet, you can easily set up basic obstacle courses and play new games using nothing more than chalk designs on the concrete.

Of course, this is just the beginning.  The brilliance of this outdoor toy is that it is so open-ended and also so inexpensive.  My daughter is only 3 years old, but I can definitely see her getting 8+ more years of use out of the Chalk City Activity Kit.  As long as the sidewalk chalk keeps flowing, so will her creativity and imagination while designing the latest games and roadway masterpieces.

In an age where technology rules supreme and children have all but abandoned the thrill of playing outside, I'm happy to know that there is Chalk City, an outdoor games and activities set that encourages imagination, physical fitness and just plain having fun outside again.  If your children are already suffering from the "summer blues", then be sure to chase those clouds away with the Activity Kit from Chalk City!
