Review - Gallery Direct Has the Artwork You Need for a Major Interior Design Upgrade

Rate this post Blog AmbassadorOur home is at a very weird and unique stage at the moment.  Before having Riley almost four years ago, my husband and I were in the process of revamping our house from top to bottom.  Although we were able to get most every room finished, our living room was one of several rooms we waited to complete.

Currently, it serves as our family room and definitely looks the part.  Riley's toys are strewn from one end to the other and our college furniture is still being used here too.  :blush:  We're waiting to do the official overhaul until Riley gets just a little bit older so that our furnishings aren't inadvertently destroyed.

What makes this room very strange indeed, is that there is a new entertainment system, curtains, decor and wall art long as it's about 4 feet off the ground.  (Riley measures in at 3.5 feet tall...coincidence?)  So because the walls are one of the only places I can decorate in this room, I was happy that Gallery Direct was there with so many amazing options.  Keep reading to learn more about an online retailer who can instantly beautify your home for less!

Let Gallery Direct Make Your Home's Walls POP is the largest limited edition fine art publisher, printmaker and artisan framer in the world. This means that they do it all: they find the artists and the artwork and they market and recreate the art themselves. There is absolutely no middleman between the artwork and your walls, which is why they can bring their customers fabulous pieces of art at prices you only dreamed of.

When decorating our living room, I decided to go outside of the box a bit and paint the walls a deep red.  I love the cozy feeling these walls lend to the room and I also love how well a great black and white photograph looks against them.  Since I'm no stranger to some of the high-quality artists working with Gallery Direct, I already knew which photographer's work I wanted hanging on our family room's walls...Michael Joseph.

Michael Joseph has been praised for his photographic achievement in presenting style and grace within the landscape of concrete and steel. In his work, lines, shapes, and shadows converge, depicting urban images like the Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park, and Wall Street along with natural foliage, flowers and trees. He uses a careful blend of creativity and precision which have been compared to images of Constructivism and Bauhaus.

My husband and I first visited New York City when we were dating and as soon as I saw the familiar scene of Central Park, I knew that I would enjoy gazing at this photograph for years to come.  Now that the hard part of actually choosing the artwork was over, it was time to customize this piece exactly how I wanted it. That's another wonderful feature of shopping at

  • Their limited editions are exclusive, part of a series of 950 prints. {Although the piece I reviewed is 71 out of 125}
  • Each signed and numbered image is recreated from the original source material.
  • Gallery Direct is a little different than a traditional fine art publisher insofar as they also give their clients full customization features normally reserved for the interior design trade.
  • The chances of you seeing this image customized to your specifications anywhere else in the world is unlikely.

Gallery Direct Central Park by Michael JosephSo not only can I get a top-notch piece of artwork to hang on my walls, it will also be uniquely mine through the high-end customizations available to me! First, I had to decide which particular medium I wanted the "Central Park" photograph to be reproduced on.

Gallery Direct currently offers the following options: Canvas, Paper, Aluminum, Acrylic, Mirror and Wood. For my particular needs, I thought that a framed canvas would look the best. Next, it was time to decide the size. I chose the medium size, which will look great next to a large black bookcase that I've envisioned for this room.

Finally, I needed to choose which frame option I wanted.  This is where I was once again extremely impressed. Gallery Direct had several gorgeous frames to choose from, and the instant preview feature on the website allowed me to immediately see what my particular artwork would look like in each frame.

I was also pleased to discover that all artwork from Gallery Direct comes with the hanging hardware already installed, so that it is ready to go straight from the shipping carton to your wall.

The canvas was perfect in every way, down to the extreme care that was taken in framing it and even packing it. There was not one singular, solitary flaw that I could find ANYWHERE, either on the print itself or on the frame. Now that's impressive!

I couldn't be happier with the entire experience I had with Their online art selection was extensive and fun to shop, their art customization and framing options were wonderful and the service was above and beyond what was expected. If you are looking for the perfect piece of artwork to grace your home's walls, then by all means, go to Gallery Direct and find your affordable masterpiece today!
