TargusThrough the years, I've come to learn several things to be true and one of them is the saying, "You usually get what you pay for".  I don't know how many times, when I was younger, that I would buy the cheapest item made only to be sorely disappointed later.

Just recently, I discovered the major differences in curling irons and flat irons and how the cheap models of these are actually destroying your hair!  Thankfully, I had the chance to review one of the premium tourmaline curling irons carried by Barbar Artist, Inc., the BAR-1200.  Keep reading to learn much more about the curling iron which will style AND protect your hair!

I reviewed the BAR-1200 Tourmaline 1" Curling Iron from Barbar Artist, Inc., which retails for $135.00.

BARBAR 1200 Tourmaline Curling Iron

The BAR-1200 Tourmaline Curling Iron comes in four sizes (.75", 1", 1.25" and 1.5"), and because my hair is a tad shorter than shoulder length, I thought the 1" barrel would work the best.  I've bleached my hair for years and realize that this chemical treatment puts a lot of stress on my tresses.  I was thrilled to learn that the BAR-1200 Curling Iron contains a tourmaline ceramic barrel, which blocks the damaging radiation and protects my hair with a layer of negative ions.

The tourmaline barrel is actually part of what makes the BAR-1200 curling iron a professional-grade product.  Metal plated curling irons are not recommended as these irons may fry your hair due to the positive ions produced by the metal.  Often, the metal curling irons damage the hair when used over a long period of time.

Metal curling irons neither produce the evenly controlled heat nor are able to give softer and more shaped curls.  On the other hand, a tourmaline ceramic curling iron is more efficient and is able to produce gentler curls as well as more evenly controlled heat.  A professional-grade curling iron, such as the BAR-1200, is also guaranteed to style any type of hair very well.

The BAR-1200 also contains a digital temperature control with heats ranging from 200 degrees Celsius to 392 degrees Celsius.  I loved how accurate the digital display was, so now I can find the precise temperature that is most suitable to my particular hair type.  The swivel cord was also a plus, for I never once got tangled up in the cord while curling and styling my hair, which has happened to me often with previous curling irons I've used.

If you'd like an effortless way to style your hair, while also protecting it from heat damage, then I highly recommend using the BAR-1200 Tourmaline Curling Iron from Barbar Artist, Inc.  This professional-grade curling iron will give precise temperature control as well as lock in moisture and shine due to its tourmaline barrel.  I found that this curling iron gave me long-lasting curls which were quick and easy to achieve.  My hair looked fabulous all day...and who can put a price tag on that?  :)
