Mamas & PapasWhen Riley was just a wee babe, I owned a baby carrier that I used to put her in so that I could keep her close to me at all times.  Riley really enjoyed it too, because she could see so much more than the same old sights from her swing or jumper.

Unfortunately, carrying Riley around in this way really hurt my back, made us both sweat profusely and was a major episode to get both into and out of.  Mamas & Papas has striven to eliminate all of those common baby carrier dilemmas with their Morph Baby Carrier system.  Keep reading to learn much more!

I reviewed the Morph Baby Carrierfrom Mamas & Papas, which retails for $139.99.

Mamas & Papas Morph Baby Pod and Parent Harness Baby Carrier

The Morph Baby Carrier from Mamas & Papas immediately caught my attention because of its unique and practical design.  The parent harness itself looked so original and supportive that I had to learn more.  Once I did, I became convinced that this is the best baby carrier I've seen to date!  I definitely wish I would have had one of these back when Riley was little, for I might never have taken her off.

The Morph Baby Carrier is composed of two parts: the baby pod and the parent harness.  The Baby Pod is composed of a soft, breathable fabric which has been ergonomically constructed to fit your baby to a tee and is designed for children under 26 pounds.  Extra care was put into the construction of the baby pod so that it would be extremely ventilated for both child and parent.  Infants can also be carried successfully in the baby pod, thanks in part to a five position head and back support that is able to grow and change right along with your baby.

The adjustable leg and waist feature also ensures that baby is as comfortable as possible and can change as your child does.  The baby pod can be configured in a myriad of ways:  with a head support and without, forward facing or rear facing too.  If you slide the head straps on the baby pod up and down, you can adjust how closely the baby's head is to your own chest.  This is perfect for very small children when they are sleeping.  Now baby can be lulled to sleep by the beat of your heart.

Mamas & Papas Morph Baby Pod and Parent Harness Baby Carrier

The parent harness is, in my opinion, the feature of the Morph Baby Carrier which really sets it apart from the competition.  This harness is extremely comfortable for the parent and is designed to be worn like a jacket.  The great part of this design is that the baby can be removed WITHOUT removing the parent harness.

That was the most difficult thing with the baby carrier I used with Riley.  Here I am trying to attach a squirming, wriggling child onto me and adjust my own harness and hers at the same time.  I don't think an octopus had enough hands for this task and it left us both frustrated and in a bad mood once we were finished.  :(

The Mamas & Papas parent harness is so easy to put on.  Simply attach two snaps, zip a small zipper and pull the side straps until snug.  Then and only then is baby involved.  The baby pod just pops on to the front of the harness and is secured with a few additional adjustable straps.  The parent harness is equipped with lumbar support and wide ergonomic padded straps, which distribute baby's weight evenly for a comfortable carry.

Should you decide to share the load with your spouse, just unhook the baby from your harness and pass them on to the other parent wearing a harness.  Now, baby can spend equal time with each parent and give the other one a rest when necessary.  Personally, I really like the unique hand sleeve on the back of the baby pod.  Parents can slip their hand inside for an extra feeling of security and comfort while carrying baby.
