Kiddie Catch-AllHas this scenario ever happened to you?  You get your child all strapped into their car seat, give them their favorite toy and a sippy-cup, and before you can pull out of the driveway, they've already dropped both items onto the floor and are wanting you to retrieve them right away.

Unfortunately, this scenario happens to me most anytime I travel anywhere with Riley.  If you are the only other person in the car, it's impossible to retrieve the items safely and so you have an unhappy child bugging you to no end until you reach your destination.  Not fun for anyone involved.

Now, there's the Kiddie Catch-All, a snap-on pocket which will catch the items your child accidentally drops and keep their belongings within arms' reach.  Keep reading to find out whether or not the Kiddie Catch-All solved my traveling woes!

I reviewed two Kiddie Catch-Alls and the "Yes, It's True" Children's Music CDfrom Kiddie Catch-All, which retails for $12.95 plus shipping and handling.

The Kiddie Catch-All is a small mesh bag with a plastic snap-on attachment that is designed to slide over the side of your child's car seat.  With the Kiddie Catch-All, you can fill this bag with your child's small toys, pads of paper, crayons or snacks so that everything is within easy reach for the duration of your journey.  You don't need to worry about the bag becoming soiled either, for it can be removed from the gray plastic frame and machine washed.

I was very happy to receive two of the Kiddie Catch-Alls, per the limited time Buy One Get One Free offer, so that I would be able to use one of these pockets on either side of Riley's car seat.  Unfortunately, the Kiddie Catch-All's plastic hook wasn't wide enough to slide all the way down on the side of the car seat.  I guess the padding of our particular car seat was too much, for the hook never would sit flush against it.

This led to it being knocked off easily or just taken off pretty handily by Riley herself.  Also, when I tried to use the Kiddie Catch-All on the side of Riley's car seat nearest the door, there was another problem.  The armrest of the door would hit the frame of the Kiddie Catch-All, thereby popping it off of Riley's car seat.  The Kiddie Catch-All seemed to stick out a little too much and thus came in contact with our truck's armrest, once the door was closed.

Kiddie Catch-All

Although this product is great in theory, it didn't work too well with our own car seat or vehicle.  If you don't have a super-padded car seat, then the Kiddie Catch-All will probably work great on one side.  But, if you are wanting two Kiddie Catch-Alls for both sides of your child's car seat, I would look closely to make sure that there is plenty of room between the car seat and your vehicle's armrest first.

How do you keep your children's toys and snacks within arm's reach while traveling?
