Sourcebooks.comSince Riley was born, it seems that either her father or I have been reading to her constantly.  Reading is such a wonderful way to entertain and educate small children and since becoming a mom, I've learned about many new terrific children's authors.

This quest for great children's literature is what lead me to Sourcebooks.com, one of the leading and largest independent book publishers in North America.  They recently allowed me to review one of their best-selling children's books, "The Night Night Book".  Keep reading to learn more!

I reviewed "The Night Night Book" by Marianne Richmond from Sourcebooks.com, which retails for $7.95 with FREE SHIPPING.

Bestselling author Marianne Richmond, continuing in the vein of her other books such as "If I Could Keep You Little", creates vibrant, eye-catching art and beautiful verses in "The Night Night Book".  This tender, evocative picture book brings the entire family together as the perfect story before bed.

Sure to become a new bedtime classic, this book takes readers on a tour of the house as everyone settles in.  Whimsical artwork and comforting scenes show kids it's time to say goodnight.  Filled with text and illustrations that exemplify Marianne's real insights into the human spirit, "The Night Night Book" is a must-have bedtime accessory for any parent.

Riley, Michael and I sat together and read this book before bedtime for several nights in a row and Riley delighted at the story and illustrations every time.  She laughed in several places about things like Frankie the silly dog and glitter glue.  I really liked how the book gradually wound down to get her ready for sleep and my favorite two verses were the last few:

Night night talking

Not a peep.

Night night me.

Time for sleep.

Night night sky.

Night night moon.

Dear tomorrow,

See you soon!

If you would like another quality book to add to your children's literary collection, then I highly recommend "The Night Night Book" by Marianne Richmond.  This book will help calm and soothe small children before bed, easing them into a restful night's sleep.  Good times for all!

What's your child's favorite book?

I'm a former 7th grade Science teacher turned stay-at-home mom that lives in Houston, Texas. I am married to my college sweetheart and have a beautiful daughter named Riley, who definitely keeps me on my toes! I am also involved in starting a small business which would both manufacture and sell an invention that I've patented, called Toothpaste 2 Go. I love interacting with my readers and hope to learn as much about you as you learn about me!
