Design with VinylNow that Riley is getting older and is in need of a bonafide "big girl" room, I have thrown myself into making it super special for her.  She's already got a fabulous bed, fun furniture and a funky rug, but I really wanted to give her room a little extra zing.  This led me to begin painting a huge mural on her walls in the "ladybug garden" theme.

Now, several months later, I'm still not completely finished and the thought of painting every single little bug, flower and bird just exasperates me.  Thankfully, Design with Vinyl came to my rescue by reminding me how quick and easy vinyl wall art decals can be versus decorative painting.  They were nice enough to hand select a myriad of accents to help make Riley's ladybug garden themed room come to life.  Keep reading to learn more!

I have to admit that while I loved how Riley's room was shaping up with the large stencils I was using, I hated how much work I still had left to do.  I wanted to paint a ton of tiny birds, bees, flowers and the like on her bedroom walls, but was dreading the amount of time and effort it was going to take.  Stenciling large items is much easier than those tiny accents, so I was thrilled by the selection of whimsical flowers and insect decals sent to me by Design with Vinyl.

The first thing that really impressed me were the vivid colors used in each decal.  These were perfect for my daughter's room and since I've applied wall art like this in the past throughout my home, I couldn't wait to get started.  I was amazed at just how easy these decals peeled from their backing paper.  Most of the time, the peeling apart of the backing paper from the decal is one of the lengthiest and most tedious parts of the process, but somehow the decals from Design with Vinyl peeled away almost instantly.

BEFORE ~ Blue hill and brown tree was hand painted

AFTER ~ Grass at base of tree, family of ladybugs and cluster of flowers are all vinyl decals

Applying these decals couldn't have been easier.  Simply remove the white backing paper from the decal, leaving only the clear film and the decal itself.  Next, place the decal on a section of the wall and rub over the decal with a stiff, flat edge.  I used a credit card, which worked perfectly.  Slowly and carefully remove the clear sheeting from the decal and voila!  You've just applied your first vinyl decal!
