Review - GreenSmart Laptop Sleeve Made from Eco-Friendly Neogreene

GreenSmart I love it when I have the opportunity to showcase a company that takes the welfare of our Earth seriously and aims to try and help our planet, instead of contributing to its many problems.  GreenSmart* is an environmentally conscious brand that actually donates 10% of its profits to the World Wildlife Fund and other organizations which are trying to make a difference.

They also name each and every one of their products after an endangered animal to help raise awareness.  So what exactly do they make and why are their products considered "green"?  Keep reading below and find out more!

I reviewed the Akepa 15.4" Laptop Sleevein Blue Ice from GreenSmart*, which retails for $39.99.

GreenSmart* makes a variety of products from an eco-friendly material called Neogreene*, which is a water-based material that feels very similar to neoprene without the harmful chemicals and toxins that neoprene contains.  They make many different styles of laptop sleeves, bottle koozies, wine totes, backbacks, lunch kits and messenger bags which contain no toxic residue and are actually made in part from recycled plastic bottles.  I think this is a wonderful idea, since plastic bottles are quickly overrunning our landfills and are becoming a huge waste concern.

I reviewed the Akepa 15.4" Laptop Sleeve in Blue Ice and have to admit that I would have never thought this item was made out of recycled bottles or made from anything other than neoprene.  This laptop sleeve felt exactly like neoprene with a soft gray interior.  The stitching and quality of this laptop sleeve was well done and appeared very durable.  There were dual zippers on this particular laptop sleeve too.

I have a 15.4" Sony Vaio laptop and have to admit that the sleeve fit very snugly.  Once inside though, the zippers easily went around my laptop and the Akepa laptop sleeve fit like a glove.  My laptop seemed very well protected with the padded interior and cushy exterior of this GreenSmart sleeve.  I really liked the small black elastic loop that was sewn inside the Akepa, as shown in the bottom left picture.  Using this loop made it very easy to zip up the laptop sleeve for I could now hold the two sides together with just one hand.

I applaud GreenSmart for their environmentally conscious products made from recycled bottles and from the eco-friendly Neogreene.  This laptop sleeve is a high-quality, well designed product that seems extremely durable and built to last.  I am a huge proponent of saving our rapidly disappearing rainforests and the animals that live there, and so am also very thankful to them for donating 10% of their profits to the World Wildlife Fund and other associated charities.  What can I say?  A great product from a great company!
