I've been familiar with CafePress for a while now and knew that they made some of the wittiest and most unique t-shirts around. I remember when I was pregnant with Riley, I even ordered a pink maternity shirt which just had "VIRGIN" written in large red letters across the front. I wore this out a few times about the time that I was 7 or 8 months pregnant and you couldn't imagine all of the confused looks I got! It was hilarious!
Of course, when Riley was actually born, I ordered her a cute onesie which said, "It's Not My Diaper That Stinks, It's the YANKEES!". We gave this to Michael on his first Father's Day, since he absolutely despises the Yankees, and he loved it! So I was thrilled when CafePress asked me to review one of their custom products. Hmm...I had never thought of designing something on my own, since I've always found such a wide variety of unique items on their site. What exactly would I create?
Since I'm no David Letterman, I decided to leave my attempt at humor and wit behind and design something a little more professional. You may or may not know this, but I've actually invented an item called "Toothpaste 2 Go". My husband and I are in the final stages of getting it patented and manufactured, and then believe me, I will tell you ALL about it!
Because it is our goal to be able to sell our invention on a large scale one day, we also founded a company of our very own, called MCM Inventions, Inc.! (The MCM is special to us because it stands for Melissa and Michael Cleaver and was even the monogram we used throughout our wedding. It graced the top of our wedding cake, our programs, napkins, etc. Since that monogram represented the beginning of our married life together, it was only fitting that it should represent the beginning of our business life together too.)
Since I am the President of MCM Inventions, Inc., I thought that it would be too cool to actually have a zippered hoodie with our official logo on it (which is special to me, for I also designed the logo myself). CafePress made this UNBELIEVABLY easy! All I had to do was basically upload a high-resolution logo to their site and then adjust the size a tad. Their designing tool already had my logo centered and positioned in the perfect places on the hoodie. It literally took me about 5 minutes to make my first custom creation with our company's logo!
The picture above shows the back of the hoodie. I was very pleased at how vibrant the colors were and how well the design was applied to the material. This looked very professional and I would have never guessed it was a custom creation if I happened to see someone else wearing it. The hoodie was also unbelievably soft!
I love it when a fleece sweatshirt or hoodie has that snug, super soft feel to it. I was so surprised at how very comfortable this hoodie was to wear and the soft material felt great on my skin. Finally, I couldn't have been happier with the fit of this garment. It was the perfect length, falling right to my waistband. It also fit like a glove and looked as though it was custom made for me!
CafePress offers the best selection of personalized gifts and unique t-shirts, clothing, mugs, art & posters. If you are looking for a unique gift idea or a perfect way to express yourself, then I highly recommend browsing their site and seeing what you can find. I warn you though...they have so many cool and interesting items for absolutely any occasion or subject, that you might find yourself shopping there for hours. I know I did! :)
Disclosure: I received the Custom Women's Zip Hoodie from CafePress in order to facilitate my review. No other compensation was received. This product review is based on my own personal experiences with this item and is completely honest and objective. |
